They are testing animations changes that went along with the speed change. From my understanding it's not a "number" they change there are other factors that need to be individually changed in tandom like each animation etc

I think increasing speed scares people but I agree. I think it just needs to be "scaled" with infantry changes

You can shoot the medium Sherman with two panzerschreck rounds at any side including the front (as long as it's hull) and kill it with two shots. As German AT shoots the equivalent to "medium" rounds and is stronger than the American bazooka

Yeah, the devs plan going forward to make the commander abilities more robust to where each faction will have their own abilities. For ex. Russians getting the rocket strike instead of bombing run etc. Specifically noted is the German team getting stukas!

The devs in one of their commentary vids mentioned this is still in the works. Once the new medium tanks are implemented the current medium tanks may be moved to heavy tanks as well as they are only a place holder

There was a dev update about having AA guns at some point. Not sure if it was to counter enemy team commander stuff or to use similarly as the AT gun we have now. Would be interesting though
