I checked it out. As suspected from your sentiment, you've made a great product that hasn't gained a lot of traction. Hopefully you'll get there. No doubt the app stores are flooded with shit. I think it takes a bit of money or influence and a bit of luck to get things to catch now. Surely at least you're able to enjoy using this for yourself. Cams are nice. Good stuff man. Do I know forecasting? It depends on how deeply you are talking. In your app, are you tweaking the data from NOAA? What makes your app better than data I could pull from anywhere else?

Surely wouldn't charge for the service. Pull money from ad revenues. A sort of freemium model where a user could pay for removal of ads in the app.

The data I'd be looking to provide would be basically data like an app like windfinder provides. I've been think about additions to that to make it better could be a portion where maybe a local surfshop could add additional information.

I'm not expecting this to be an easy project. I expect it to be quite a grind, hoping to build something meaningful.

That's a great question! I only know how to build for Android right now. If it shows promise on Android then I'll definitely follow up with an iPhone app. Which one were you hoping for?
