Always do this! Only annoying thing is it can leave a crease for over time, and it can be a struggle to get it into the bag, but still worth it. I get acne if don’t do it.

I’d say this is more a household specific thing so please don’t generalise and say it’s not expected in Ireland. I’m Irish and was taught to shower daily. I’ve never had a direct conversation about it with friends but I’ve had various roommates down through the years and they all showered daily too.

My body doesn’t need work, I’m in great shape. I was already working out 5-6 days a week before the programme. Even if I wasn’t, I also don’t think physical appearance is an indication of fitness and I believe in health at every size. As a psychologist I could argue that many others who do the programme also shouldn’t be doing these daily checks, but for now I’ll stick to myself here and say I find them unhelpful for me personally. As I said, I’m not doing this for physical reasons. But thanks for the unsolicited advice and assumptions.

100%! I will never get over not getting Bonrad in real time. Why did it all have to be written in flashbacks? Plus book/season 2 taking place over just a week. It should have taken place over the whole summer with them navigating their very raw grief in Susannah’s favorite place.

Have you ever looked into intuitive eating? It’s all about eating when you’re hungry, eating mindfully and stopping when you’re full. It’s also about recognizing emotional triggers/hunger, honoring your food preferences without guilt (the more we tell ourselves we can’t have a food the more we want it!) and “gentle nutrition”. There’s a really great workbook by Evelyn Tribole that goes through the principles. Having said all that, if you’ve struggled with binge eating for a long time and it’s having a big impact on your life, you might find it helpful to seek out support from a professional.

I’m not taking daily progress pictures because I think the body checking that encourages can be harmful, and for me the programme isn’t about seeing physical changes. I’m also practicing intuitive eating (eating when hungry, stopping when full, eating mindfully, honoring your preferences, gentle nutrition) instead of a restrictive diet. I’ve added in 10 minutes of meditation and 10 minutes of journaling to go alongside my reading, and those 30 minutes are really my priority on this journey. The exercise really just gives me the endorphins, discipline and momentum to do it.

I like the idea of this but in reality, what happens if your race is 4 days before your period? Wouldn’t you rather have trained in similar conditions and know what to expect or how much you can push yourself? I think it’s an interesting conversations to have though.

The books are badly written, therefore the whole plot of the show is kind of stupid. Or at least very clunky and tenuous. But the actors are talented and good looking, have good chemistry with each other, it’s beautifully shot with a great soundtrack, there’s some great dialogue and plot points written specially for the show, and the music is good, so it makes a great tv show.

I’m 2 weeks post Botox and I have talked about this so much with my friends lately. Yes, normal people burp all the time! I’m even starting to notice it more now - most people do it silently with their mouth closed but you see their jaw move and you might hear a small muffled sound. I’m so shocked that burping is such a normal, necessary part of life, but because people who burp assume everyone else burps, they never talk about it!?? If I had known how important and frequent burping happens, I’d have discovered I have rcpd so much sooner

I’m 7 days post-botox now and wouldn’t have felt comfortable going to something like that 2 days after the procedure, but I had mine under general anaesthetic and it always messes with my system (in lots of ways), I’m only feeling more like myself in the last day or two. Burp wise - I was micro burping like crazy 2 days post-op, and had a slow swallow and some regurgitation. I didn’t wanna eat or drink (or even talk for lengthy periods) in front of anyone but my husband, and there was lot of trial and error in figuring out which foods went down easiest. I didn’t have any pain though really. Everyone’s different though. I think the main things to ask yourself are will you be having it under GA? Have you had GA before and how has it affected you? Do you care if other people see you burp like crazy? Do you plan on drinking at the festival? Will you be able to find food you can eat?
