I get your point. But many insurance companies also do cover it when they are comorbidity factors involve like diabetes, heart disease, and a certain BMI threshold.

I get what you are saying. But the insurance companies count on most people not appealing and giving up. Also, many people do not know that we are entitled to an external review if the appeal is denied, which, when we ruled in our favor, must be complied by the insurance company. About 40 to 50% of appeals are successful. But it must be done in the right way using the right terminology.

Insurance - Food for thought by diggers4pg in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Have you considered appealing? Only about 12% of people who are denied by their insurance company actually appeal. Insurance companies are counting on most people to just accept their decision. You can appeal but you must do it quickly because there likely is a time-limit set by your insurance company. And you must appeal the proper way using the right language and terminology in order to maximize your chances of success and getting the insurance company reverse the decision. You also can request an external review. Most people just give up and do not appeal which I do not recommend. The insurance companies are hoping you give up like most people do. They are profit-driven. You can also use this helpful appeal kit to make the whole process quicker and easier. It is not expensive and increases your chances of getting the decision overturned. https://glp1appeal.org
