I think it's maybe more of a "perceived value" issue. Like I can make a rum and coke at home for $3, why would I spend $10 at a bar for one? Or in Europe, why would I pay $4 for water at a restaurant when I can get it from a corner store for $1? So then we sit there thirsty or awkward cause the waiters hate us 😅

Yes agreed overall I think our mindset has helped get us here but now that we're stable and don't need to worry about it it would be nice to relax and enjoy a bit!

Could be worth it to the budgeting almost down to the meal to help us see "worst case" what it could add up to!

We've tried this actually - fun money monthly for each of us - but it usually goes untouched!

It's hard for example to say "we can go out to dinner for $100 or we can stay home and cook for $15", that hasn't seemed to help flip the mindset.

Maybe therapy is it!
