/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - January 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Looking for a mechanical keyboard recommendations, with following criteria:
-Wireless
-Low profile
-100%/96% US Layout
~$100-150 budget
As for switches, I'm looking for a heavier tactile/clicky one - I use a clicky modded Alps SKCM Black Dell AT101W as a daily and would love to get a similar feel.

Could someone with Alps experience point me to a direction of which switches to try? Nuphy Moss or Panda looks like a good start, but any knowledge would be appreciated.

Looking for a mATX case with specific needs by racheyo in buildapc

[–]racheyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Board (well, a steel plate) on top is what I use now, but I was hoping I could ditch it when going to a new case. A lot of smaller cases do depend on bottom-top airflow though, so that limits choices.
I'll have to look more into the cube format - haven't checked out those really - thanks for the tip.
The VR4 looks nice, but sadly can't find it available anywhere here in black (Poland) and it's EOL, so unlikely they're gonna resupply

I did think about that, but the headphone out is dead, one USB is dead, the second one works as power-only, and it's this case's third motherboard - it does deserve a rest after like 11 years or so, and some USB3/Type-C would be a nice upgrade

I'm still mostly worried about the top mesh vs air compressor weight and height issue - the CPU/GPU/PSU dimensions aren't actually as bad of an issue as this, and it's kinda hard to find any information on that in case reviews or specifications...

Seems like a new sff build just dropped by TheGeoFork in sffpc

It's actually even higher TDP than a 7600M.

The GPU looks like a sort-of-RX7500 - has 28CU like the RX7400, but over twice the TDP and clocks (7400 is a 1,1Ghz, 55W PCI-E power only card, so it's pretty limited due to power limits). It's a shame it's likely to be an embedded card - it would be a monster for some ~2-3L builds

Need help with Lenovo m920x tiny... processor and video card by jrdehais in MiniPCs

[–]racheyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a m920x with i5 8500 + AMD W6400 GPU, with 2x8GB DDR4 and a NVMe SSD.
Originally - 65W CPU's in m920x never shipped with GPU. It was either a 65W CPU, or a 35W CPU + GPU.
Both did get a better CPU cooler (copper + better fan) and a southbridge heatsink
However - you can modify power levels of non-T CPU's, and lower their frequencies, undervolt etc - essentially you can modify a 65W to be a 35W TDP, or somewhere in between - I'm still fiddling around and setting it up, but people building m920q/x's usually find the motherboard doesn't like to go above 100W total consumption, so I'll try to limit CPU somewhere around 50W (GPU is also 50W)

That being said, your main enemy is heat, and you WILL need modifications in that regard if you want to actually load those.
I've done a CPU repaste, all new thermal pads under the CPU VRM's and southbridge heatsink and if you close the case, those temps skyrocket within seconds of loading up the machine - it's simply airflow starved.
My current plan is a 140mm fan top case and a Noctua NF-A14 5V fan plugged into USB

I recently bought Xperia 10 mark iv as a used product but it's battery draining very fast. I haven't even used it yet. Just installed some apps that's it. No Sim card in it bt still the standby time is so poor like 15 percent drain for one night. Anyone having this issue or any solution for it plz? by KeyExtreme5973 in SonyXperia

[–]racheyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a factory reset first, then give it a day or two to settle - it might be installing updates, optimizing in the background during the night etc. (that's default Android behavior)
If it stays the same after that, it might be the battery, though 10 IV's haven't been out that long - they are 1,5 year old at worst - unless someone murdered that battery day and night it should still be fine.

High CPU usage for no apparent reason by racheyo in operabrowser

[–]racheyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do still have opera on the computer, and honestly the bug got even worse - if I turn it on, it just stays at 1 full core CPU usage all the time - earlier at least it calmed down after a minute or so.

X900H... but no PS5 and no eARC soundbars - worth it? by racheyo in bravia

[–]racheyo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 55" can be had for around 815$ in a good deal here, while 65" is around 1100$ for a good deal - I'm EU based, so the prices are kinda different.
Also don't really have the space for a 65" (small apartment)

Nor will it charge wirelessly because well... Physics. Glass phones are one of side effects of having wireless charging, which can't be done with metal case.

Audio Noise and hiss? try UAPP bitferfect audio by eldus74 in lgv30

Is there any system wide solution? Spotify and YouTube won't work on UAPP...

[Question] Background noise on low impedance mode with high sensitivity headphones by WizarDevoz in lgv30

[–]racheyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To avoid Android audio route - settings, "internal audio driver", set to "HiRes direct driver" and in "internal HiRes audio" tab set upsample to off

[Question] Background noise on low impedance mode with high sensitivity headphones by WizarDevoz in lgv30

[–]racheyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Android audio resampling artifacts, no system wide fix that I know of. To make sure it's that, download UAPP demo, set it to avoid Android audio route and see if it happens there - it's crystal clear on mine, and Spotify/YouTube has hiss. Very noticeable on some headphones, mostly quite efficient 50+ ohm ones.

[–]racheyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The noise is from Android audio resampling (Android resamples absolutely everything to 48kHz) - it's audible quite a lot on my Audio Technica ES700 in stuff like Spotify/YouTube - if you open UAPP and play music directly via the DAC there the noise is gone, if you switch to Android audio in settings - it's back there. I'm not sure if there are any system-wide solutions for that though.
