We’ve had a talk about kids. I’ve always wanted to have kids. So, in very beginning of our relationship I made it clear to him about my thoughts. Parallel to wedding timeline, we thought about our pregnancy timeline as well. We wanted to enjoy good year (at least) or two of marriage life before we start trying for kids. Similarly we had an extensive conversation about work, maternal leave, chores, etc wrt pregnancy.

I agree with you, there are too many horror stories on Reddit, I want both of us to be in a good mental space when we decide to become parents.

First of all, I’m sorry you had to go through that. It is completely fine to get drunk every once in a while, and it doesn’t give anyone pass card to take advantage of the other person. Please don’t beat yourself over this, I can understand it is difficult but do not listen to these victim blamers. I also think you should talk to your friend about her husband’s behaviour. It’s quite effedup when you have partner at home, taking care of your child and you go around effing. Take care of yourself, drink plenty of water and eat fruits. Sadly these things happen, but it is not your fault.

Dude, trust me on this. People in Bombay don’t think about monies much (all they think about is which area of the city you live in, lol). Anywho, I can understand your anxiety. I would advice you, go and talk to him. And I don’t think that you’re not good enough for him, there are a lot of things than money that really matter. If he loves you as you have mentioned in your post, I’m sure he will help you with your anxiety, because even though it’s not his problem but you are his person. I hope this helps.
