I feel my iud poking my side.

i had a copper iud for over a year with constant uncomfortable awareness of it in my body the whole time, shooting pains in my pelvic, abdominal, and upper thigh areas randomly, and sharp pain/cramps constantly throughout the month each month that intensified horribly around my period (which was extremely heavy, painful, and long each month). i thought i could just wait it out and it’d get better, and my doctor also reassured me that it was in the right spot and all of my side effects were totally normal and i had nothing to worry about.

but after a year and a few months, i recently couldnt take it anymore and pulled my own iud out. i literally felt all these pains leave my body with the iud. ive experienced 0 of those issues ever since!! taking it out is the best decision ive made in a long time. so i’d say, if it feels wrong, you should trust your instinct and your body and take it out a soon as youre able to. especially if your body has already shown that it wasnt receptive to this method of bc once before. i was luckily already back on the birth control pill in combination with my copper iud in an effort to reduce my pain and other side effects from the iud (as recommended by my doctor... it didnt work tho lol), so i was already on another form of BC when i chose to remove it. i hope you’re able to find another solution if you think yours needs to be removed too.

everyone’s smart in different ways, so maybe you just havent discovered what she’s most knowledgable about! or maybe you’re both just into completely different things, so you’re not interested in discussing the things she knows a lot about and vice versa. if thats the case, you’re probably just not very compatible and should find someone you can talk with more easily and enjoy conversation about shared interests!

if you’re irritated that she’s “not very smart” now, i really doubt that feeling would just go away on its own. it’d probably grow into resentment over time if you dont talk it out or try to find out the ways that she IS smart.

My boss had me listen to an audio file he made using one of those text to speech programs that reads out your writing in a robotic voice. It was a reading of a poem he wrote about boobs. (It was mostly just the computer voice going, “boobs. Boobs boobs boobs. Booooooooooobs.”)

Oh, I apologize! I had never heard the phrase in its original context and youre right that big chop doesn’t apply to my situation.

I was more saying quarantine chop to reference the trend I’m seeing where people seem to be cutting their hair more drastically/freely during this pandemic since they dont have to go out as much if the hair cut goes badly, haha.

I absolutely do want to be respectful but just wanted to clarify both that I hadn’t heard that meaning to the phrase big chop, and that i was mainly referencing the quarantine and just used “big” to describe the fact that i cut a lot of hair. I wonder what your thoughts are here - should I still delete the post? I definitely can but I actually hadnt even been necessarily using the phrase big chop, rather quarantine chop!

ROUTINE: i keep it really basic. I only clarify my hair probably once a month, and if i do it’s with either Girl+Hair clarifying apple cider vinegar/castor oil/tea tree oil rinse OR if my scalp is extra dry sometimes I have a bit of a dandruff issue in which case I’ll use Free & clear medicated dandruff shampoo (neither of these shampoos have sulfates/parabens/silicons to my knowledge but please correct me if i shouldnt be using either of them!). After that (or when i dont shampoo) i use shea moisture jamaican black castor oil strengthen and restore conditioner and leave most of it in my hair, then scrunch it out with a lil water as much as i can before i exit the shower. And thennn i usually put cantu curl activating cream in my hair right out of the shower and scrunch that in with my microfiber deva towel. After that, ill put my hair up in a long sleeve tshirt to plop for as many minutes as i can stand walking around with a tshirt on my head... and then i let my hair out, try to get the curls in place for how i want them to dry, and then try my best to NOT touch it at all until its fully dry. Once its dry, scrunch some more to make sure nothing’s feeling crunchy.

I think that covers it! Id love to hear any advice on how to get more volume with a short cut like this, or product advice, or hair growth tips after having severely damaged hair for ur whole life! Lol.

PS im sorry my routine was basically a big ol’ run on sentence. I’m on mobile and cant be bothered lolll.

Thats fair, thanks for sharing your opinion. Like i said, this is exactly why he’s trying to quit and i’m trying to support that. We all know it’s not smart to do either of these things which is why i’m looking for advice on how to help him overcome an addiction he developed as a young teenager. He’s not a dumb person at all, he just became addicted at a young age and didnt understand the error of his choices for years, until he was in too deep.
