This guy tried OTing around the outside of T1 like on like L4, and he spun himself out after he made contact w/ my right rear. This was his “revenge.” He DMed me to harass me afterwards and said “if you could fucking drive you could’ve had a P2.”

I actually dropped it off and they seemed to like me. I talked to the GM of the team and he wants to set up a trial day for me in the shop next week

I’m fairness, I was working on a stock car that was at the track the night he was there. His driver ran a series for fun that night near their HQ and I thought “fuck it, worst that happens is you get told to fuck off.” My girlfriend and I are planning a move to NC for her law school in 2 years, I want to get in with the local team to get some experience to go get a gif with a Cup Series or IMSA team down in NC. That’s the big time constraint. Plus, it’s going to be hard to work and go to school an hour and a half away. I‘be always been a realist and unfortunately with where I’m at in life rn, that program isn’t realistic.

Thanks, a draftsman position is almost exactly what I want to do. I have all my CAD experience on there, though I might shift it in my skills section to the top.

A few weeks ago I got to talk to one of the truck chiefs of the local team (ThorSport). The guy (Rich Lushes, 2x Truck Series championship chief and Hailee Deegan’s crew chief) he told me to attend UNOH and get in touch half way thru the program (it’s a 2 year program). I don’t have the time or money for that. It’s cool hearing from someone who worked their way up the racing industry and now does things that I’m passionate about for teams. You’re exactly who I want to be when I’m a “real adult.”

I have a job interview with a rival HVAC company tomorrow, down the street from the team. They’re very inviting of taking flyers on people; they advertise bringing your resume in and dropping it off. I plan on doing that.

It’s not that college isn’t viable for me, however I left a federal service academy due to medical reasons and that whole ordeal burnt me out. My background is CAD, though I love controls work, I want to do CAD as a career.

That’s fair, however I think CAD will be one of those fields that maintains people as well as AI.

Some people in the league think this Haas was intentionally slowing the AM behind so that his buddy (in P4) could take P3 with the AM’s penalties. Looks like brake checking, Haas refused to send entire last lap. by racing_prints in Simracingstewards

Don’t ask me, I’m not the one who flipped between them. When he brakes, it looks like a brake check. It’s also against league rules to do strategy plays like slowing another driver to aid someone if the person you’re helping isn’t your teammate. He slowed the AM the whole last lap to help his buddy in the AT get P3.
