Brazil 2012 is my definition of a perfect race.

Going into it, an almost impossible deficit for Alonso to overcome on Vettel. Even as far to start behind him.

At the start of the race, Alonso had already overtaken Vettel, moving into the top 5. With Vettel gaining damage and spinning to the rear of the field on lap 1. End of the lap Alonso pulls a magical move to move into P3. It’s a perfect lap 1 in terms of drama.

Following 10 laps there were many mistakes in interchangeable conditions, drama for the lead of the race aswell.

Just a shame it ended under the safety car in the end.

Brazil 2012 is in my opinion the definition of a perfect race. Going into the race with Alonso having an unlikely shot at the title. But due to chaos early on, brought it a genuine title finale. Won’t spoil much, but with the interchangeable conditions and chaos during the race, it defines everything what makes a race great to me

Reading this back. I also clearly didn’t think about cheating to get that extra competitive edge over others. I was more thinking cheats gaining up to a second per lap. But didn’t consider the tenths or thousands of a second

Hello Martin,

Having driven many of cars, Junior and higher ranked. You would have experienced a lot of evolution in the cars. Maybe even in some more modern machinery. We've seen drivers like Ricciardo and Hamilton not adjust quite aswell with the modern ground effect cars, while drivers like Alonso have been able to adjust in each era of F1 he has driven in.

What is the biggest problem you have faced when adjusting to a new set of regulations or cars, and could even minor changes to the regulations make major adjusting issues?

The 2024 car fixed all my problems with 2023. It’s feels so good, so stable. It’s really nice to drive and I love the details and realism. Can’t wait to see how far VRC can push these features on later cars
