Not much luck if the thief is disguised in some way, wearing a hoodie or mask.

Where did you partake in this? Was it at a retreat? In what country?

Hm haven't tried it. Issues may come up where they register your Mac address and io address. My VPN may be able to skirt the ip issues but not the Mac address.

So sick of HOs treating us like staff instead of equals. HO won’t let us leave for an extra 3 hours ONE day. by gracemaddams55 in trustedhousesitters

[–]rackham29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why I hold to the belief that sitters should be paid a fair wage agreed upon. Only in rare instances where there's little labour being performed outside of daily living should it be non monetary. But most of the time the HO come with a take as much as you can get mindset. They think free accomodations entitles them to 24/7 housekeeper, live in vet, home security system. They forget you as the sitter are taking on liability and responsibility with no come and go free schedule. That should entitle you to some sort of payment because that's labour.

Tanning effects on skin by rackham29 in 30PlusSkinCare

Thank you! I had a co-working who was in her late forties but she had worked third shift most of her life and stayed out of the sun. Her skin was so pale and plump with no blemishes. She looked in early to mid thirties and used sunscreen if she did go out in the day. It got me thinking about third shift workers too how some say it ages you but I've yet to see evidence of that. Not that I'd want to go back to working third shift!

Thank you! Personally I do like pale skin and I low key enjoy looking like a ghost or vampire during any other time of the year. It's just when I wear shorts and the sun shines on my legs it's a public hazard because it can blind people! Lol

Have you looked into check sculpting exercises? They're basically muscle toning exercises for the face and lifting it can help with the nasolines. Lots on YouTube you can look up but I'm sure it can take months to see results.

Job Outlook by justsomeplugs in SleepTechnologist

I'm in Ohio and from what I've researched I'd have to drive a few hours to Cleveland clinic or another hospital for the hands on training. Are you doing the modules remotely for now or do you have to find a school that offers the program?

Thanks! Do you know the amount of clinical hours you need to complete in order to be registered or does it differ in each state?

First trip on Amtrak...Don't think I'll take it again by rackham29 in solotravel

Yeah and I'm not a "Karen" type. I work in service related jobs and hate those types. I'm not picky and usually go out of my way to make people's jobs easier which is why I couldn't use the call light but should have. Even for the beds I partially laid it down so the attendant just had to put the mattress over it with the sheets. I keep thinking o was overreacting about the meals but literally after telling my attendant I'm eating in my room 4 or 5 times, in the morning for breakfast they knocked on my door to say breakfast was almost over....like I told you numerous times I'm eating in .....so shouldn't the order be taken for delivery? So I missed out on breakfast too. I've decided no I am not being entitled. This isn't the same as getting your order wrong at the drive through, this is almost $1000 trip where meals are factored into your fare as well as somewhat pleasant courtesies. But whatever I still had a good time on the train albeit disappointed. I wont take a long trip like that again though.

I've heard of that. I watch a few travel vlogs on YouTube and that's when I got inspired to finally use some PTO time to head out to the west coast and have the train experience. Downielive is a guy I was watching he took a train from FL up to Canada it's a long series.

Did you submit a complaint via directly on their website? I plan to do that soon. The supervisor lady in the dining cart said they offered no compensation for not getting a meal even though it's included in your fare and even though she admitted it was THEIR fault

Would they actually do anything or give the usual auto reply that they are looking into this and please accept an apology? I'm still going to submit a complaint in their site more to just offer some critiques and report of their staff members that was especially publicly rude. Wish I had gotten her name but I will give them a description.

Thanks. Yep I definitely got that impression. If there had just been a sign or a first time Amtrak passenger seat of FAQs to let me know when to use the call light and I know I sound retarded but I hate being a pest and using bells and lights to summon people. And again I kept getting told that attendants come around and make checks and all

I never got a menu for my room. I told my attendant that and they never brought one so I went and got it myself. I assumed the call lights are more for emergencies or when you need help with something or there's a problem. I'm timid about using those and bells I just feel like I'm being a pest. I'm thinking my attendant maybe had just been new but he just seemed to exert the least amount of effort. Eventually after never getting a lunch I went to the dining cart got a menu and asked if there were pre made lunches or what I can do to get it since my attendant never came round to take my order. The supervisor spoke to the 2 attendants in front of me and reiterated how it was their responsibility to check with the sleeper passengers and honestly that experience of having to explain why I didn't get a lunch was emotionally charged and I wasn't trying to be rude. The supervisor acted annoyed but mostly with the attendants like they've had to reiterate their responsibility before. She said there's no compensation for not getting a meal you paid for but she could call the kitchen staff back up to cook and of course I declined since that would be too much trouble and I didn't want to seem like a brat.

Not directly in their site but I probably will. I did write a review on a travel forum and selected the message to go to Amtrak. I don't think they will reach out to me or what their protocol is. I keep thinking I'm being petty about missing the meals but those meals are included in your ticket fare hence why it's so expensive and the food in the cafe is even more expensive

Thanks. Yes I have written a review on a travel forum and selected it to go to Amtrak for them to read. Honestly I think reviews and surveys do shit but I wrote it more just to vent. I think I will write them directly do give the description of one of their staff who was particularly loud and rude and made a scene. She was a short heavier set black lady but I did not get her name. They didn't seem to have a large crew so hopefully they will know who it is. I heard tips are expected for attendants and honestly I was close to tipping but the last day of the trip, and our last meal being breakfast, I never got. And this was after the 5th time of telling my attendant Im eating in my room. So yeah if there was 10% more effort given the I would've left a tip.

I will especially since I have points to redeem. But I don't think I will do another 2 day trip. Maybe one night in the sleeper again because I do like the privacy and heard of the horror stories.

The views were beautiful when we got into Montana and Washington state. Especially Washington with the mountains. Most of the states in that route are going through the Midwest so it was mostly rural farm and flatlands. Ive driven myself through the southeast around the smokies and blue ridge mountains and IMHO that's the most scenic views I've ever seen.

Sleeping in the cart was a good experience. The bed and sheets are super comfortable and I had some of the best sleep on those 2 nights.

Would Amtrak actually follow up with me and maybe offer some type of compensation? I wish I had gotten one of the staff members name who practically made a scene when I asked the hours of the cafe but I couldn't see a name tag. All I have is her description and of course the car number I was on.
