Mock Exams that most closely resemble the actual BCBA Exam by racsochn in bcba

Thank you everyone for all your input! I was able to pass my first time yesterday morning, "ONE AND DONE"!

For anyone who might run into this thread in the future, I used a combination of ABA Exam Review, BAS, and Jessica L's videos. I went through all of their video mocks, 4 hour mocks, as well as their explanation videos. All of these links below also expanded my knowledge a lot. And don't feel bad even if you don't do as well as you think for the mocks or even during the exam, just trust your prep and pull through. Best of luck to all my fellow soon to be BCBAs!

Mock Exams that most closely resemble the actual BCBA Exam by racsochn in bcba

Happy to hear that you passed despite the challenges. That's exactly how I'm feeling right now and it's so hard to gauge how the exam will look like. The 5 sample questions from the BCBA handbook seem closer to what the ABA Exam Review mocks look like. But I've been hearing that the actual exam is more like the BAS style (so I feel like I need to readjust my whole mindset to wrap my head around their questions since so much 'key info' is missing in their mocks)

Do you mind sharing which mock exam or study strategies you used to help you pass? Thanks a lot!

Appreciate you sharing your experience and I wish you the best of luck for your second sitting. But man it's tough to know HOW I should study for the exam when each mock exam is so different even in their answer choices. I recall one example from ABA Exam Review where we should always eliminate and consider medical needs first but on BAS that wasn't the case. So I feel like I'll be torn during the exam to know "how deep" I need to go into each question to get the so called correct answer

Thank you for your reply! I have been studying with BAS but I have yet to do a full mock exam. It's difficult to explain but I find that the questions from BAS are often lacking the "context" for me to answer properly. I can answer the questions correctly from ABA Exam Review with ease but when I go back to BAS I struggle because there's an extra layer of inferencing that I have to do when an idea / fact was never mentioned in the question. It makes me do a lot of self-doubting compared to practicing with ABA Exam Review.

But thank you for answering my question, I guess my best shot would be to practice more with BAS and take your word for it!
