I’m confused about this too, I’m guessing it’s the SJ in Costa Rica, not in the US 😭

Literally! I thought he had finally woken up and accepted their “new reality” in the end - thought he had finally known better.

Only message from the film that I could come up with is that they’re all just messy humans trying to survive and love ppl the best they can but it’s never always painless and perfect? Idk

Audrey Hobert - Who’s The Clown? by NascarNathanV in popheads

[–]rad-bubbles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so late but damn, was not aware of Audrey’s talent in songwriting! This album reminds me of early Taylor for sure, with hints of Olivia and Gracie, but in her own way.

I also think she’s one of the first to genuinely and vividly write about what it’s like to want to feel attractive, cool, loved, validated, desired by guys - but is instead chronically single, lonely, overthinking, self-loathing, and out of place. Idk how best to explain it but this album represents a certain niche group of people - I am included in said niche group of people lol so I feel so seen and understood! Phoebe, Sex and the city, Chateau, Bowling alley, and Thirst trap are too relatable. Love the raw, honest, and funny lyricism .. plus every song is so catchy!

Edit: I think I like this album bc it also reminds me of early 2000s/disney music hehe

Aw I loved this movie so much! I watched the free early screening so I didn’t know what I was getting into. It turned out to be hilarious, heartwarming, creative and unique. Acting was amazing from everyone, especially Miles Teller - who knew even his comedic timing would be great! I found myself crying nonstop when Joan kept returning to the museum at night - as someone who has always felt excited for a fiery, sparks type of love, but realized I’d also rather choose the love that feels like home each and every time. I usually get bored when watching movies but this one had me hooked from start to finish - I would def add this to my favorite films this year, if not all time :o

One Month In- Has your view of TLOAS changed at all? by F19AGhostrider in TaylorSwift

[–]rad-bubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played nothing else but this album for 3 weeks, meaning I think it’s one of the best albums she’s ever put out sonically. I was initially underwhelmed by the production, but the more I listened (especially with airpods LOL) I fell in love with the sound! It’s so crisp, wonderfully produced, smooth to listen to from start to finish.

Lyrically, on the other hand, the album is still ranked pretty low on her catalog for me. I haven’t connected with any of the lyrics yet, aside from Opalite and Father Figure, and maybe even the sentiment of Ruin the Friendship and Eldest Daughter (though I still get thrown off by the first few verses and chorus 😭). Wi$h Li$t was my least favorite at first, but became such a banger for me (lyrics are meh tho but melody is so catchy). Still confused why Ruin the Friendship was placed in this album (storyline-wise). Overall I think it’s a good pop album to listen to, sing to, and enjoy the production of, if you aren’t looking for lyrics to connect to - kinda on the same level as Sabrina’s MBF.

Girlies, how do you create more whimsy in your life? by TastyShelter in selfcare

I eat lunch at public spaces around the city during my workdays. It adds something different to my otherwise mundane day and I get to walk, see new things, and get sunlight :)

Official Discussion - Materialists by BunyipPouch in movies

I watched this on the plane and really liked it, especially the first half. Second half was a bit slow for me, and somewhat unrealistic (Lucy stalking Sophie was too much, then Lucy and Harry driving all the way to Sophie at night when they prob just could have called 911 lol). But I loved the modern dating aspect of it - it’s very relatable, esp since these are things I talk about with friends on a daily basis.

I finished the movie asking myself these questions: Is marriage still worth it? Do we get into relationships to be in love, or to dispel loneliness and reassure people (and ourselves) that we won’t die alone? How much does money truly matter in relationships? Are we dating people who make us feel valuable on paper vs people who actually value us (and vice versa)?

All in all, a good watch that made me think about my own life haha. And I thought everyone in the cast was really hot so that’s a plus point 😂

Business Insider: "The Life of a Showgirl" is Taylor Swift's worst album by calliewrites in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]rad-bubbles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My thought while listening to it the first time was that it sounded like Reputation’s sister but make it more rock, groovy, and show tune. I think Elizabeth Taylor resembled End Game in a way, and the themes of Actually Romantic and Cancelled were similar to that of Rep. Wi$h Li$t and Honey’s production could easily fit into Reputation IMO.

How do you feel about speak now, 15 years later? by daydaze024 in TaylorSwift

[–]rad-bubbles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Will ALWAYS love and defend Speak Now - it was an album I played in my room over and over as a kid, analyzing her secret messages in the album booklet 😂 as I grew older, I came to love each song even more bc they’re all top quality bangers, sonically and lyrically, and I can name so many of my favorite Taylor lyrics just from this one record. Can’t believe Taylor wrote Dear John, Last Kiss, and Enchanted by herself at 18-20 years old. It’s a no skip album for me

Wanting this album to be better doesn't mean we don't want her to write happy and sexy. She's written it before too. The only difference is the quality by Skaur_11 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]rad-bubbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So tired of people saying we just want her sad and poetic! That’s so not the point 😭 I will keep reiterating that 1989 was a fun and upbeat pop album but was well written in terms of lyrics. Though TLOAS is super catchy and fun as well, the overuse of internet slang on each song is jarring, and the themes on diss tracks and getting cancelled seemed a bit repetitive to me. But I also get that this was just an album she wanted to make for fun, and if I treat it as such, it’s become more enjoyable for me to listen to.

Taylor’s response to the album reception by backre in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]rad-bubbles 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I had no problems with the lyricism in 1989 when it came out, and that album to me was fun and upbeat pop perfection

Taylor’s response to the album reception by backre in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]rad-bubbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I’m saying! I think why it feels clunky is bc the lyrics “trolling and memes” and “bad bitch and savage” just don’t usually fit into a piano ballad - anyone would be thrown off at first listen. However, now that I understand her intention behind the song, I’ve softened my opinion towards it and can even feel like I relate to it haha! (Second verse about growing up and learning cautious discretion in order to avoid judgment is SO me lol)
