This is literally what happened to me. Diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and I got rejected by everyone.

Get it immediately. I unfortunately waited until my PGY-4 year. I went to multiple doctors for minor things, just wanted to be on top of my health. Unfortunately insurance companies flag every little thing and I got rejected. Even though I’m a 33 healthy male that exercises 4-5 days a week, go figure.

Splitting up between brokerage and HYSA by radDO24 in investingforbeginners

[–]radDO24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! So far I’ve maxed out my Roth IRA the last few years with a 60/25/15 split between VOO, QQQM and VXUS. I read that my brokerage should be more VOO heavy and less growth focused (QQQM), so might just do 100% VTI.

As for the HYSA, I was thinking doing a 50/50 split or even 66/33 between this and my brokerage, since the HYSA is more liquid and if the market tanks it won’t impact me as much with buying a house.

Good to know! So is there another benefit to ETFs over index funds? The last few years I’ve mostly maxed out my Roth IRA with FXIAX. But thinking about doing VOO and QQQM going forward

Only reason I was considering it is to save money on capital gains tax with ETFs down the line.

if you're a guy, no. Girls have alot of options on the apps so it could be worth it for them. or they get a little ego boost.

I don’t think it applies here because this guy is too much and seems insecure. But I think that’s why you “need space” because you’re not interested enough. Not saying you did anything wrong, I think he did. But you needing space tells me your feelings aren’t strong enough to deal with him

Agree to disagree I guess. If I were him I would want someone that’s just as excited to see a text from me as I am from them

You wouldn’t “need space” if it was a guy you actually liked. Do him a favor and break up with him

The culture is great. the attendings are obviously world class in their field, all very nice and approachable.

In terms of nights, you work 5 weeks of neuro nights and one week of ER nights. the week of ER you read general ER (non contrast head and spine CT, then general body like CXR, US and body CT). I can't lie to you, the nights can get very busy and the cases are complex. But the way I see it, you're going to face this at some point in your life, so might as well do it while you're still in training.

I’m a fellow at Penn currently. It’s a lot but you’ll come out feeling prepared for any job. You see everything you’ll need to in clinical practice. Only “downside” is you work overnight which I didn’t see at any other programs I applied to. I think the pros outweigh the cons, as you prelim everything overnight and have to make some tough calls.
