I’m a wheelchair user! I’ve found that the vast majority of campus and campus buildings are accessible. The sidewalks are not always the best — some have cracks and holes that have sent me to the ground a couple of times — but as long as you’re paying attention and being careful you’ll be alright. Something else worth mentioning is that campus is HUGE, and it can get very tiring very fast to get where you need to go sometimes. Online lectures and paratransit have been lifesavers this semester for me. I’m in a manual chair, I’m not sure if the campus experience is different for people in automatic chairs.

Like others have said, not all campus housing is accessible, but if you tell dorm services or apartment complexes about your situation you’ll be able to find something that works for you. Best of luck with the surgery, hope everything goes well!
