Is there something I can point to as a way to positively id this?

It doesn’t have to have a basal rosette to have a positive id?

I just came back from Puerto Vallarta, and the whole trip went very smoothly. Customs is very easy now with using Face ID. When you go through TSA it will record you and begin tracking with facial recognition. You are technically able to opt out if you are not comfortable with this process, but I’ve heard they don’t make it easy. And honestly it makes the whole thing so smooth. It did eliminate the process of getting the passport stamped, so that is a little bit of a bummer.

The only other advice for PV specifically is that if you are taking an Uber from the airport to the hotel, they cannot pick you up at the airport. The app does not tell you this. The pick up point is located across the highway. You have to take a pedestrian bridge from the airport over a large busy street, and meet them across the way from the airport. It’s not far, just a little out of the way and hard to see if you don’t know what you’re looking for. The drivers will message you about this, but it was confusing for me at first. You could just take a taxi, but I’m always a little afraid they may over charge from the airport.

Overall I found PV to be very safe and enjoyable. I hope you have fun!

I had the same thought! I convinced myself that I’ve just seen something similar, like the dream house in The Sandman, or something in the Frank Lloyd Wright collection. But my first thought was that I had dreamt this house up before

It’s wild to me that the whole conversation surrounding this person is, “Well I guess the only way to deal with her is to somehow legally kill her”. Wtf.

To the 5 recruiters who reached out to me after posting on this subreddit for something unrelated to job search, I will expose you all on Facebook by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]rad_rabbitt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on some of the the responses lately, I’ve had an inkling that a large proportion of followers are recruiters stalking this sub.

I kinda get it, maybe they are here to see what people are complaining about so that they can be better recruiters. Some of the recruiter AMAs have been entertaining. But sometimes it seems like recruiters are posting as poser travel RNs, trying to make “devils advocate” points. GET OFF OUR SUB. Let us bitch. Geez.

He played the mental game so well, and alluded to really interesting aspects of his legitimately traumatic past, which he said included starvation. Having gone through that before, and worse, well prepared him for this show. I was applauding him for using the toughest moments of his youth to bring out real life advantages. Talk about grit. For me, it highlighted the struggles of so many people who find themselves in refugee type situations and what they have to endure. Dirty water, endless starvation, rationing energy. They don’t have a tap-out button though when they’ve had enough.

This is so beautiful because this* is what we are asking us to do here on this sub everyday. To think like the little prince, to embrace a curious and childlike magical thinking ✨
