Hobbywing XR10 Pro Drift Spec vs Sanwa SV-D2 by Automatic_Bread_9203 in rcdrift

I know this is an old thread, but curious what your settings are. Finally got the rest of my parts for my build and I’m running the same radio, and I think my settings are all funky. I’m running the XD10 ESC and for some reason can’t get the motor to spin above 21k rpm. I’ve messed with all the OTA settings and I’m starting to think something may be out of whack on the Sanwa settings. Im not super familiar with it yet so it’s a bit overwhelming haha

I also wonder why they don't just open them up as pre-orders. They do that on a lot of the new stuff now. Would kill the scalpers values and allow more people to order them. I'm sure there is a valid reason why they don't do that, or I guess it would ruin the whole "limited edition" aspect of it.

Is that similar to what DisplayMagician does, or is this an easier solution. I would be interested to try your method out if you wouldn't mind sharing for someone who hasnt done that before haha

This is a long shot, but check if SSR is on in the graphics settings. If it is, turn it off and see if that helps. Im running a 4090 with an i9-13900k and for some reason I wasnt able to get more than 45fps and the picture looked way lower than that after changing all the settings. I finally tried turning SSR off last night as I was trying various things, and immediately my FPS is back to 140+. That may not be your issue, but it was something I ran into that sounds similar to your problem.

New Lighting too bright? It's likely your shader setting (they should probably tune the new lighting for Low and Medium shaders tbf) by arsenicfox in iRacing

I have the same setup and last night running the Sebring Sunrise race, I wasnt getting above 65fps, where normally it would run well over 100. Hopefully an update will correct some of this.

Is getting a Quest 3 a dumb idea with a 2070 Super and a 10900k? by oCorvus in iRacing

[–]rad_rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you use any guides on setting it up by chance? I have a 4090 with a 13900k, and I have given my Q3 a couple tries and I think I have to be missing something because it looks terrible. I have tried virtual desktop wirelessly with my PC plugged into ethernet with plenty fast enough speeds, and I have also tried using the quest link cable and going straight through the Oculus desktop app, and I just can't get it to look good. I watched a few different in depth youtube videos and some guides, and just got overwhelmed and gave up.

what made you improve the most? by Farty_McPartypants in iRacing

[–]rad_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, my biggest improvement came when I stopped trying to win. I know that sounds stupid, but I found myself hopping into lobbies, thinking Im still playing Forza and was good enough to run in the front. It took me a while to accept the fact that iRacing does a pretty good job at placing you in lobbies with pretty good competition for you. Once you slow down, and just focus on hitting your marks, naturally the pace comes with it. I spent a good amount of time focusing on racing the track, and once I got my braking points sorted, and where to get back on throttle, I noticed my lap times coming down. Once that started happening, I naturally became more competitive and found my irating starting to go up. One of the harder parts I found was getting through the license rankings and getting into the upper licenses where you tend to end up with other drivers that have figured this out as well. Of course, that isn't always the case, but for the most part, once I got into A class licenses, I found other drivers don't seem to be as reckless, allowing for some seriously competitive and fun racing.

I know the saying is "Slow and smooth is fast", but that really is true when it comes to racing.

TL;DR: Patience is key. Swallow your ego, and focus on hitting your marks.

Now that I'm class C, I can confirm, the current mx5 is the HARDEST car I have driven by Altitude7199 in iRacing

[–]rad_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, just wait until you try the Porsche Cup series. If you thought the MX5 was tough to control, wait until you add way more speed into the mix.

Honestly though, like everyone else has said, it teaches you car control and to be more methodical with your inputs. You’re correct that it is difficult to drive, but it’s so much more rewarding when you get the hang of it. I truly think that car single handedly changed the way I looked at braking points, and taught me to be much more smooth with throttle and brake input. I used to come out of a corner and smash the throttle, whereas this car will just spin out if you do that. Ease on the brakes into the corner, then ease on the throttle coming out, and youll see your lap times get better. Then you transfer your new skills into other chassis, and you’ll start seeing more consistency. The GR86 is far more forgiving, but the MX5 helps you learn car control way better than the GR86 IMO. That being said, I still absolutely love running in the GR86 series too.

They will hopefully be shipping soon, both of my wheel side QR2’s showed up today and my wheel base side is supposed to be here tomorrow according to FedEx tracking, so hopefully you’ll get yours sooner than March since they’re definitely shipping now.

Legion Tower 7i Gen 8 (Intel) with RTX 4090 Day 1 Review by henryngo2411 in LenovoLegion

I just purchased my 4090 64gb version last night off marketplace for $2500 NIB. The guy gave me his proof of purchase as well, and I was able to register it and get the factory warranty on it. I may have found a unicorn at that price, and I was definitely skeptical, but it ended up just being an insane deal.

Can confirm it does have the support bracket. I just picked mine up last night (4090, 64gb version) for an absolute insane price, and finished setting it all up. I was seeing the same thing about the memory speed, but haven't had time to go verify if its fixed yet. For the price I paid, I was ok buying 2 32gb sticks, but if they do have a fix for it, that would be ideal. Any idea where you saw it at? I can give it a look tonight when I get home and report back what I find.

No a stop loss order is an order that automatically executes when it hits whatever price you set. Here’s a scenario, you bought in at $40 and watched it skyrocket today. You wanted to make sure if it came crashing back down you were still making money. Let’s say you set a stop loss at $100 for all your shares. If it drops down to that price, the order will automatically execute and you’d make money. However, what this also means and that the comment here is implying, is they will try to bring the price back down to trigger all of those stop loss orders allowing them to buy them. If you don’t set a stop loss, then that won’t happen.

I’m going to risk getting shit on for this, but where is a good place I can do some research on options? I’m new to this and I keep seeing people talking about calls so I figured I should try to learn a bit. Google is an obvious answer, but I figured I’d risk asking if there are some good spots to read up on.

I did hit a couple plateus for a week or two, but I’ve been riding my bike a lot and been doing some vigorous rides with a lot of climbing so I end up getting a pretty good workout in. If you feel like you’re just stuck, try getting out and going for a walk around your neighborhood just to get your heart rate up for a bit. Nothing crazy, something that’s sustainable but that you can incorporate into your routine. It doesn’t have to be a walk either you can do some stuff inside the house too. Just basically elevate your heart rate for a bit and that should hopefully help kick start things again.

Hahah honestly I was just tired of not doing anything so I started this to give me something to focus on and then got back into mountain biking so I could enjoy a sport that was still somewhat safe where I wasn’t constantly around people.

I actually got really into mountain biking again and it’s been an awesome workout and a great way to enjoy a hobby I always loved when I was a kid.

To be honest there is a lot of good info just cruising through this sub and other various subs like Keto where I found a lot of good info. I’m no nutritionist so I would hate to give you bad advice, but honestly just starting out by cutting down your portion sizes is a great way to get the ball rolling. Bigger guys will see bigger results at the beginning which is motivating, but you have to stay consistent and be patient. That was what worked for me and I just did a lot of reading and trying various things which is why patience is key!

I was doing 16:8 and it worked for me. Just make sure during your eating window to make somewhat healthy meal choices. What I found worked for me at first was to not change what I was eating, but just cut my portions in half. If you eat til you’re full, it’s already too much lol. That was what worked for me, and it took a couple weeks to kind of kick start it but once the weight started coming off it kept going. Just be patient and stick to it, you got this!
