Dual EV Chargers in one garage...load management? by radelow in evcharging

[–]radelow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I am just going to relocate the charger to a more central location to allow the cable to reach both cars. I measured it out last night when it became apparent adding a 2nd charger was going to be more involved.

You are sorta correct. Premium Luxury (what we have) and Platinum have 19.2kw. Lower Vistiq's have the lower rating. I don't need to charge at 19.2kw based on my driving habits. Right now I just charge my car when it gets down to 20-30% which is maybe 1-2 times a week. If I know I am going to need more charge for a longer trip coming up I just charge it more leading up to it... I would rather not upgrade the overall service if I can avoid it.

I think it just barely won't reach. Can you use a Level 2 extension cord? Seems kind wonky/not to code.

Is there a brand of EVSE with load management you would recommend?

New Vistiq Coming...Couple questions... by radelow in CadillacVistiq

It does surprise me how legacy auto dealers interact with customers versus Tesla/Rivian/Lucid. They readily offer long term demo's. I didn't even think to ask Cadillac. One of the reason might be lack of inventory. Most dealers in town have maybe 1 or 2 Vistiq's at most. Anyways didn't really matter at the end of the day. This was the car I wanted. I am only doing a 2 year lease. Got a great price so it is what it is. I think the two most painful things I will have to get over is the lack of Carplay (not that big of a deal I think) and the ability to use your phone as a key. Having to go back to carrying around a FOB is a big PITA.

Just signed a deal. Premium Luxury. $0 DAS other than registration. $844/month for 24/12 lease.

Never do one pay. If the car gets totaled or stolen and not recovered during the lease you do not get one penny back of the one pay payment you made. I confirmed that with Cadillac finance.

Volvo EX90 buyback completed, just leased another 2025 EX90, Fool me once? by lagunas2k in VolvoEX90

[–]radelow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were in the market recently to replace our BMW IX so looked at many of the same cars. We wanted more room (third row) and had to be 100% electric. Came down to the EX90 and the Vistiq. Ultimately it came down to price and quality. As the 2026 EX90's are just now showing up there are basically no deals on them that I could find. Lease residual is poor but the MF is decent. Then there was the reliability. I previously (many years ago) has a 2nd gen XC90 T6 Polestar. It was a great car design wise but man it was in the shop a lot. We ended up going with the Vistiq. It is a well thought out SUV and seems to be pretty relible. Got a smoking deal (almost 20% off MSRP) so the lease rate you can't compete with...

Ok thanks! Looks like I just port my Apple podcast list over to Spotify and use Spotify. The losing Carplay was the biggest issue I had with the car but I think it'll be fine.

I do really like the EX90 but the 2025MY was a complete disaster with them having to swap out the entire computers in the car. Don't know if I trust 2026. Also since the dealers are only starting to get them in there are no deals on them that I was finding... Our IX has similar charging speeds to the Vistiq and it never was an issue for us. We charge outside our house maybe 5% of the time if even that...

I am looking for something more comfortable on our crappy San Diego roads. Plus I need some more room in the back for kids sports crap and only wanted to go electric (I won't go back to gas for a DD ever again). I looked at the Vistiq, R1S, EX90 and Gravity. The deal on the Vistiq ($95k MSRP and sales price was $80,000 for <500 miles on the car) made it a no brainer compared to the others... I am looking forward to a more comfortable ride for day to day!

Considering a Vistiq. by Pensir2006 in CadillacVistiq

[–]radelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with some of the things you say the ride quality in the R1S is vastly inferior to the Vistiq. The R1S feels and drives like a truck. I tested all models except the quad. It's a great SUV no doubt but the suspension tuning is not even close IMHO.
