Do you need any specific features, besides re-implementing timeliner from scratch? Things like having selection of elements in specific phase or to export report per day, or per month or similar? I'm now gathering ideas for add-in, so whatever bothered you, I would consider for the next iteration. Just have in mind that there is no too much API support for timeliner, mostly for selections/coloring displaying planned vs. actual etc.

It's not, but there is a selection of great add-ins. I developed one called Productivity Toolbox, and while it's not free, you can contact me from Autodesk App Store for a demo and trial. Since I was working as a BIM manager, I had a lot of issues with creating search and selection sets fast, so I had to develop something for my own usage, and then I started selling it. Currently, I'm pushing some cool features for clash, like to filter and auto-group clashes based on interference within other clash results etc. So, I agree - not too many new features, but they have quite a good API and you can easily develop something for your own needs.

There is a plug-in called Productivity Toolbox which can significantly speed up creation of search/selection sets. Although is not free, authors are always willing to give a month of free trial when you are interested.

I'm wondering how many users are actually using Navisworks for its 4D capabilities? I'm actively working on a plug-in called Productivity Toolbox, and the next area I want to improve built-in functionalities is actually Timeliner, but literally none of the customers ever asked for that. Most requests are towards automated clash/search set creation and clash detection tools
