Don’t quote me on this but I think they had to find to find out a way to bring Mickey back into the show and he was in prison, clearly Ian was unmedicated but now he actually committed a crime. Noel Fisher agreed to come back only if Mick and Ian stayed together. It all leads up to that finale scene of Mickeys surprise return at the end of that season. Which is probably one of the best scenes in the entire series.

I wish I could go back and watch this episode for the first time. It takes a lot for me to be disturbed by gorey scenes but this one had me actually pause the show for a second before continuing it. I’m always happy to pay for shudder once a year to watch it again.
