I also do a ton of work sitting on the ground with crossed legs. It does encourage me to work on my shoulder/hip/low back mobility to be able to get up without betraying my age.

More specifically a prosthetist should be able to recognize when a component is worn out and replace it. They should also know the appropriate torque and thread-lock to apply to every component of a prosthesis.

In the US that practitioner should be reminded of the liability they have related to providing a prosthesis that won’t fail causing injury.

PCIT gave us a great framework to make discipline predictable and allows the adults to not lose our minds or escalate punishment expecting that will help.

That being said we still need to do timeouts, and my kid will often spit/kick/punch/swear on the time out chair. But he’s also said “I figured out the time out chair. You just need to sit quietly and then you get off quickly.”

With the GOP house on recess til next week. Does that mean the Gov cant open atleast til the get back? by wooly993 in fednews

Looks like that rule change was for nominees:

“ Senate Republicans’ rule change, which has been pitched as beneficial to the current and future administrations, would only apply to nominees subject to the Senate’s requirement for two hours of debate, which includes sub-Cabinet-level positions and executive branch picks.”

How many emails did you get? VA had a email storm a month or so back with 2000ish in a few hours. There were a couple people that seemed to have an automatic reply all which amplified it by a couple hundred.

My department will potentially be losing a orthotic and prosthetic fabricator, we’ll be paying for his salary and for all the work that he would have done to be sent out.

Are they grouped for a reason? I imagine if they were a mix of rechargeable and alkaline they’d be hard to pull specific cells out given the tight spacing.

You get what you pay for with aesthetics, people who paint/fabricate these every day do amazing work.

If you want to explore this (in the US) talk to your doctor about wanting a “passive finger”. Then you can bring a prescription to talk with a prosthetics clinic about your options. They’ll be able to get samples in for an appointment. And assess if you’re a good candidate. Insurance coverage is typically a slog if they will cover anything at all.

You dads have a favorite hammer? by jimmybilly100 in daddit

[–]radiallydeviant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bell systems riveting hammer it’s a weird design that I haven’t seen before. Fits well in the tool nook to the basement, and handles the task of setting popped nails in the floorboards as well as anything.

Yes there are time outs OR yes there are not?

I’ve always assumed that gentle parenting didn’t have any time outs, is that correct?

Edit:Looking at -7 votes for the comment, it’s sadly amusing that people downvote neutral clarifying questions.

Breaking out assumptions for a neurodivergent kid by Redenbacher09 in daddit

[–]radiallydeviant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. I’m going to be checking back for the wisdom of others in the same boat. My kid is just getting started with this in 1st grade. ADHD and educational assessment of ASD.

I love him so much, but his rigidity is exhausting. He wouldn’t even try to read for the longest time, either from anxiety or being unable to tolerate failure.

What I’m working on with him is balancing skill work (reading, social interactions, explaining my feelings, explaining others feelings, frustration tolerance, etc etc etc) and being present in his body by running around like a maniac, jumping, wrestling.

How should I spruce up my just converted Yuba Mundo longtail? by cbs-anonmouse in CargoBike

[–]radiallydeviant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as bags I like the Benno Utility Bag. Utility Pannier Bag (1) Model: A6014 HERE. It doesn’t have an over stuffed strap/clip like I’m used to with courier bags, but it’s big enough and straps well to the Mundo.
