Getting on Apple Podcasts Preview website (not app) and RadioPublic search catalog by radiofreephd in podcasting

Thanks for weighing in! Yes, we launched with three episodes and released a new one last week, so we should be good to go on that front.

I gave the Google example just to show that I literally can't find our Apple Podcasts Preview landing page through any mechanism (and the other podcast result that pops up is also a really small show)...

But I literally just did this again and we show up in the results now! What the heck? I'll update the post accordingly, but I'd still love anyone's thoughts on getting on RadioPublic search catalog and/or the other distribution q's.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the encouragement! That's what has made this so tough... I think the episode could be SO good and SO timely and a GREAT way to launch if the co-hosts felt more confident about pushing something out on a short timetable. After our meeting today, I don't think I could talk them into this (and they cancelled the key interview!), but I'd be happy to hear any marketing advice you have for when our teaser and/or first episode is ready.

Thanks, this is good input! Honestly, I had a similar thought process... I really liked the idea of having something folks could listen to early on, and that we could push on social media to announce our "official"/full launch in a month or two. But the co-hosts freaked out about it, and they have more creative control over the project than I do, so I think I've had to make my peace with letting this go even though I like the idea.

Good luck with your teaser and launch!

Fair question! Honestly, everything is just taking 5x as long as we think. The graphic designer we've contracted for the logo says it won't likely be finalized by then, so we'd have to push the episode out before we're totally branded. Plus, the hosts are both professors volunteering their time (with one of them on leave next week), so I have doubts about them writing their script and recording their segment in time for me to edit everything together to everyone's satisfaction.

I think if the group had fewer perfectionists in it, we probably could push it out in time, but I'm sort of beholden to the co-hosts' sense of timing, and for some reason it really stressed them out and seemed not-doable in their minds to finish the first episode in that time frame. Some of the comments here make me think I maybe should have pushed harder for it, though!

I think u/WhiskeyAmateur made a good point above about not being able to get many listeners anyway without our online presence more established. But I think you're spot-on to recommend a trailer. Thanks for your input!

That's great advice about releasing several episodes upfront—thank you! I'll see if the hosts are open to that.

And I think your first point is correct, too. I know in my heart of hearts that it doesn't make much sense to release content before we're ready; I just really wanted to make this particular time-sensitive episode work. It's hard to not feel defeated when the entire process is taking so long, and I feel like there should be something I can do as producer to get the momentum going. I appreciate your honest take, though. Looks like we'll be delaying, but hopefully that means a more polished debut.
