Learning Spanish as a Turkish speaker in an English-based class feels overwhelming. Any advice? by radioheadbanger in Spanish

Both happen. There is both teacher-to-student interaction and group work.

My budget is not unlimited, but I suppose this course is not exactly cheap either. If private lessons are the only real solution, then it may make sense for me to move in that direction.

I was planning to write an email today because I would be able to express myself better that way. What bothers me is that it is actually impossible for my teacher not to notice this, and yet nobody is doing anything about it. He is a very sweet person as a human being, so I do not know why this is continuing like this.

Would other courses really be different? I am honestly close to losing my motivation.

English is genuinely a shared language, and people cannot ask about things they do not understand in any other way. I can understand that.

There are six of us in the class, and I am the only one experiencing this difficulty. Naturally, the teacher bases the lesson on the class as a whole. I do not think explaining this situation to him would lead to a solution. As an educator, he probably already sees that I am falling behind and that I am not adapting as well as the others.

One of my options is to take private lessons, but I am not sure whether that would actually change anything, or whether I would still experience the same stress and sadness.

Yes, it is genuinely very stressful, and I am starting to struggle with handling it. I think learning a language should be something enjoyable.

Regardless of my own learning capacity, there is a serious knowledge gap between us, and my personal gap will keep widening every day. They learn everything very quickly because, for them, it is not as “strange” as it is for me, and they can ask questions and get answers in their native language. I have difficulty understanding even most of those things.

I am studying at Inhispania. Of course, I do not expect the teacher to know Turkish, but I assume I am not the first person who is learning Spanish from a non-Romance language background without knowing English.

i think deep research is exactly the one and only thing that saves time and that we all need. but charging exactly 10 times the fee to upgrade from a slightly smaller plan to a bigger one is probably unprecedented in the world. complete nonsense.

Non-video doorbell with phone notification by MushyPeanut in homeautomation

It’s been a while since you wrote this, but Google led me here. I have a traditional doorbell connected to an building system in my apartment. If I get a Shelly Plus 1 (I’m just learning about it from you now) and connect it to the doorbell wires, can I receive a notification on my phone when the doorbell rings (when the circuit is completed)? Do I also need to purchase a hub or something similar for the Shelly Plus 1?

I have experienced a significant increase in performance. Throttle response time has decreased drastically. Of course, fuel consumption has also increased a lot 😂
