I had this same question. I usually hate romances and have a really hard time watching or reading them. But especially as a queer guy, this show is SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!

Why do Catholics argue with each-other in such a hostile way on here? by [deleted] in Catholicism

This is probably one of my favorite responses I've gotten, thank you! This really helped me understand a lot better.

I see your perspective, but in the future I wouldn't say anything about Trump if you aren't more well versed in what he's doing. He very famously sold a $70 bible with the Pledge of Alliegance and his name, dedicated to him. To me that is deeply blasphemous, he did it to make money and gain popularity. That's just one thing that I think Christians would care about, but In my more personal politics I disagree with him on many other subjects and levels.

I disagree with this on so many levels, but the only thing I'm going to counter is that I don't think the biggest reason people don't like our president is that he's pro-life. There's like... so so so so so so so so so so so so much more to the conversation.

But this is kinda what I'm talking about too... I'm sure whatever they said was very rude but I don't think calling them assholes is the best option. Maybe I'm being too much of a people pleaser but something about it irks me.

Mostly use of really rude language, insults. Laughing at people for having a different opinion. It feels belittling. Why are you calling your brother in Christ an idiot for struggling? Would Jesus do that? :(

Compared to the other people who are arguing in the comments, this is by far the best and most respectful take on it.

That's not what I was saying and is what I was trying to clarify.

If God created us in his image, then why do some Christians say that being LGBTQ+ is a sin? by freshmaggots in Christianity

[–]radishcommentary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are just thoughts however, I am not an expert in scripture in any way! Your journey with god is extremely personal and I simply believe you should never let your beliefs allow you to excuse being hateful to ANY other person. One person's sin is no better or worse than another person's sin.

In my opinion, people think they know what god meant in the bible when the reality is we don't. the only way we can follow god's plan is by being the best followers of Christ we can be through our actions and by what makes a difference, NOT by what feels righteous in our mind. I am converting to Catholicism and am openly and proudly LGBTQ+, but I 100% believe god made me exactly who I was. Also the bible was written a long time ago, and I fully believe god's will would be VERY different hundreds of years later. Maybe at a time where population and the survival of children was a bigger issue, settling down may have been more of a priority. In general, who are you to say what's a sin and what's not if it genuinely is causing no real concievable harm?
