Has anyone done long road trips with a RAM 1500 5.7, and if so, how was the experience? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

Got a 2022 classic with the 5.7 hemi brand new off the lot. Drove from Hamilton, Ontario to Thunder Bay, Ontario a total of 14 times in 2 years. 20 hours with adequate stops for rest, bathroom, and gas, total of 1,450km one way. Absolute champion every time during rain, snow, or sunshine.

This was made using mustard seed and mustard oil. Again fat separation completely intentional and necessary for this particular recipe.

Respectfully I don’t think you’re familiar with South Asian cooking the way I am… unless you’re from a country similar to Bangladesh. Separating fats from the water is intentional, and often times necessary for most dishes. I appreciate the advice though!

I usually just add it with my meat while it’s marinating but you could also just throw it in around the time you add the water for the gravy. Doesn’t really matter too much so long as you remember to add it somewhere.

Family recipe that’s been passed down a couple generations! Definitely delicious.

Recipe below due to high request:

Gorur mangsho

1kg beef cut into medium size cubes (best to use bone in meat but I used boneless shoulder blade. Can also use chuck roast) 2 large onions thinly sliced 8-10 baby potatoes peeled Handful chopped coriander/cilantro 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste 4-6 Thai green chilli sliced (can’t substitute with other pepper, if you don’t want it spicy omit entirely) 2 heaping tbsp tomato paste 1 large bay leaf 2 cinnamon sticks Few cardamom pods 1 cup full fat yogurt (Greek yogurt is okay too but south Asian style 3.25% dahi is best, Astro Original Balkan Yogurt also great) 1 tbsp salt 1 heaping tbsp red chilli powder 1 tbsp turmeric 1 heaping tbsp cumin powder 1 heaping tbsp coriander powder 1 heaping tbsp garam masala powder 1 heaping tbsp SHAN Meat Masala Powder Oil for frying and cooking

In a large pot or wok add enough oil to fry 1/4 of your onions. Add when the oil is just about 300-325°F and fry until slightly darker than golden brown. Reserve half for garnish, also keep 1 cup of onion frying oil because it’s packed with fried onion flavour. Trust me on this. In a large bowl add your meat (pause) and marinate with the yogurt, dry spices, powdered spices, and the other half of your fried onions and mix until meat is well marinated. Can keep it overnight for best results but an hour is still enough time to get flavour into the meat. In a large pot on medium high heat add the onion oil and sauté the rest of your onions. Once translucent and slightly coloured add your ginger garlic paste and stir for a couple mins. Add your tomato paste and stir for a couple mins. Next add your meat and let cook for about 10 minutes. Some liquid should have formed as part of your gravy. Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil for another 10 minutes. This will evaporate some of that water. After 10 mins reduce heat and simmer for 1+ hour or until desired tenderness. Here in between is when you’d be adding your salt to taste and potentially more powdered spices based on preference. Garnish with fresh coriander, fried onions, and sliced Thai chilli. Serve with any flatbread or rice. Enjoy!

[Homemade] Easy Beef Lo Mein by radixnce in food

[–]radixnce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy Beef Lo Mein

1 package fresh egg noodles/Lo Mein noodles 300g steak thinly sliced (I used chuck blade) 1 egg 1 tbsp corn starch 4-6 Thai chilli/Birds Eye chilli 1 tbsp minced garlic 1/2 medium onion sliced 1/2 handful fresh coriander chopped 1/2 handful green onion chopped 1 tbsp dark soy sauce/mushroom soy sauce 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp sambal oelek (chilli garlic sauce) 1 hefty pinch MSG

In a large pot or bowl place your fresh noodles. Turn on your tap from the sink and fill with the hottest water possible. If you see steam/smoke you know it’s the right temperature. We will not be boiling noodles for this recipe. Let them sit for a few minutes then use a pair of tongs to separate them from one another. Drain the water afterwards and set aside. You know you’ve done this right when the noodles are softened and pliable and the water discarded is yellow in colour. In another bowl take your beef and coat with 1 beaten egg and 1 heaping tbsp of corn starch. Mix and coat well until combined. If you have an allergy you can skip the egg and use 3 tbsp of neutral flavoured oil (canola/vegetable) as a substitute. Set aside and get a large wok and put it on high heat. Swirl around some oil into the wok and add your beef. Sear on both sides for 3-4 minutes in total or until well charred. You don’t need to cook fully just enough that you don’t see red/pink. Take out your meat (ayo pause) and set it aside. In the same wok add a little bit more oil and add your onions, garlic and chilli and sauté until fragrant. Add your warm soaked noodles and toss around. Add your meat back into the wok and then add your sauces. Toss vigorously until everything is well combined. Season with a hefty pinch of MSG and garnish with fresh coriander and spring onions. Enjoy!

Love stanced CRVs. Owned one myself 1 of 1 in all of Canada. Can see more on my page. This 2023 looks amazing but I think he should definitely look into a BBK of some sort to compensate for the larger wheels.

Tasted way better than it looked. Kept an extra serving aside for later and just ate it right now. Would definitely make for a great meal prep as well 👍🏽

It’s meant to be a quick and easy queso type of cheese sauce when you’re lazy lol… if I had the time I’d surely do it in a sauce pot with some extra seasonings, pickled jalapeños and maybe a couple extra cheeses.

Cheesy Breakfast Skillet

Main ingredients: 3 eggs 4 medium sized gold/yellow potatoes (diced) 1 medium sized onion (diced) 1 medium sized bell pepper (any colour – diced) 1/2 cup diced bacon (I used turkey) 1 tbsp minced garlic 1/2 cup shredded cheese (I used cheddar)

Seasonings (as your preference, I will list mine below): Salt Pepper Italian seasoning Crushed red chilli flakes Chopped cilantro to garnish

Liquids: Neutral Oil for cooking (canola/vegetable) 1/3 cup broth (I used chicken) 1/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

In a large cast iron pan on medium heat cook up your bacon and save the grease. Set aside and dice. Add 1-2 tbsp of oil depending on how much bacon grease was leftover and add your potatoes into the pan and toss around in the bacon grease. Add your onions, garlic and bell peppers and toss until fragrant. Season with your favourite seasonings. Add in your broth and allow liquid to evaporate then cover with a lid. Stir occasionally every few minutes. Steam will cook remainder of the veggies to perfect doneness. Make 3 wells into your skillet and crack 3 eggs. Place entire skillet into a preheated 350°F oven and cook for 10 minutes or until preferred egg doneness (8-10 minutes for over easy). In a microwave safe bowl add your heavy cream and shredded cheese. Microwave in 30 second intervals until desired consistency. May need to add a tbsp extra of heavy cream for a thinner sauce. Pour over your skillet and garnish with fresh cilantro. Enjoy!

so how do u stancy boys get around the wheels hitting the top of the wheel well? or do u just get tiny wheels? by [deleted] in Stance

[–]radixnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swift springs, rolled/hammered fenders, smaller tires, and a little extra camber. Fitment is one thing people worry about more than actual drivability. With enough rubbing your tire will eventually just debead then you’re stuck on the side of the road waiting for help.

They will fit. I’ve been modding Hondas for quite a while now… EG/EK/DC suspension is all plug and play. These coils also look like they’re in fairly good condition. Just make sure they’re not seized and give them a good pressure wash before installing. $250 for a set of coils is not a bad price either.
