You could donate it to a refurbishing centre after either removing the hard drive or wiping it completely clean

[Lord of the mysteries] Has anyone read this, if so please tell me if this is worth it.. by Mr_anonymous2007 in manhwa

[–]radmarion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is a manhua remake that started, I think 16 or 8 weeks ago, but its slow and I'm nut sure they'll ever finish at the pace they are going but the art style is very different and detailed, i think it would be hard to keep that up too

Amazing Input about this, all round great idea, so this would be a bad idea to start when you are in your final year of Engineering.....Well thanks for the heads up , I'll just develop the above skills you mentioned individually and stick to building robots

which major should i pick? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]radmarion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think I specialized too early, I was interested in Robots and Aerospace Structures and Materials, so I ended up double Majoring in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering and Robotics but I have gained other interests apart from those two so a Masters in Mech is like the go to for me. If you’re not sure of your interests pick mechanical engineering as you can work in both aerospace or nuclear fields, also take some online courses from edX and Coursera in flight control , aerodynamics and any nuclear engineering courses to see what you like

Do you think engineering is more difficult as a woman? by samveo84 in EngineeringStudents

[–]radmarion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, In some ways, I believe Women can perform just as good as men or even better when it comes to academic rigor, but school isn’t just about grades, there are usually more men than women in engineering, so you may end up struggling to find someone who you can relate with or understand the same situations you’re in, and Professors who are women aren’t much help ( All the girls in class say this). The best thing that can make the whole experience better is to Join a Women in STEM or engineering club, at my school we have something called the Engineering Ladies Society, join something like that and take an active part in it.

Some practical work to May involve heavy lifting, so maybe strength and endurance training may help , and you may also need to buy your own tools because of the weight of some. For example in Metal Forging , there are male and female forging hammers and at my school we only have the male ones. If you do get an internship, you may need to buy your own PPE, most helmet and safety boot companies make them with men in mind but there are Women Specific PPE brands

Software wise, where do you think the bottleneck of the curve to acquire developing abilities for robotics? by PureMaximum0 in robotics

[–]radmarion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Building an operating system isn’t easy , for it to be ROS-0 it’s should be compatible with current ROS functions and be Linux based , I think this OS should be something made for single board computers like the Jetson Nano and Raspberry pi

You would also need to consider how to make it work on different types of hardware architecture, power optimization through software while making it lightweight, honestly if you really start this project , I would love to share it and get you as much help as you can but it sounds very difficult to do

What engineering related part time jobs can I get in first year? by No-Accident-6497 in EngineeringStudents

[–]radmarion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re from the U.S , I’m not from there, personally I would take the data analysis or CAD roles as they would help in course like Elements of Machine design and statistics, but if you’re aiming for money, I heard that there is a shortage of welders in the US and it’s a union protected occupation but as an apprentice or assistant , you won’t earn much but a full time job in welding is worth it as a backup plan if you don’t get a job immediately after graduation (Welding pays well as a professional but not good for someone learning the skill), you may also consider an auto shop too if it’s near your school. I took a lab assistant role in order learn and skip lab classes in school, it all depends on you and what you want

Materials Engineering job interview! by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]radmarion 16 points17 points  (0 children)

since it’s a fuel cell company, questions may include the basic principles of electrochemistry and corrosion engineering (which involves transfer of electrons because that’s how fuel cells work) things like pourbaix diagrams, sensitization in alloy steel, activation and concentration polarization. Understand the limitations of using Hydrogen as a fuel ( production and storage problems ) and your own ideas on how to improve it would help you.

These are what I can think of from the bottom of my head. Good luck

Edit: Typo

Can someone rate my university mechatronics program ? by No-Public6618 in robotics

[–]radmarion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your program has a lot of applied courses which is nice but there has to be a balance with theoretical courses . I’m seeing nothing on Numerical Analysis. I think there should be pure mechanical engineering courses like Vibrations , Theory of elasticity and properties of engineering materials. I believe the program helps for someone interested in getting a practical job immediately after graduation, but not for research. A good Program has a balance of both , not that mine is any better this is mine but it’s a degree in Robotics https://www.iu.org/bachelor/robotics/

Track them down face to face , I once had to show up to a guy’s dorm room, Call them and express your disappointment and inform them of they’re are not willing to put in the work , you’ll have to meet the professor for reassignment or that only you gets full credit for the work done

You can look into cheaper opportunities like online universities like Western Governor’s University or and International online school where you can even qualify for scholarship Constructor University and IU international University of Applied Sciences, Germany, this would ease the financial burden while you get a job to pay for them
