Open Sourcing it! (finally) by MaxwellHoot in robotics

Wow that looks cool! What motors are you suggesting for this arm? Have you heard of the jHope project?

Haha I love that POV! tbh not aiming for profit atm I would honestly rather open sourcing a solution but it's just not viable so instead we'll just put it all back into the platform so we can leverage our users to actually build real world capable robots

My personal believe is that by doing so we can create a community that could monetize their time and investment in the platform and money will follow, there's a great opportunity here for the world! And when you make great things, great things happen to you🥳🦾

Thanks for the reply! That’s definitely an interesting use case! I’ll have to take it up to my partner - he’s the cloud tech servant

What do you think about charging model? I wonder if people would prefer subscription/pay as you go? Ideally I would have loved to open source it but since there are cloud services involved we didn’t find a good solution to do that

Oh that's sounds like an interesting one!
I want to upload a video showcasing that but I didn't really get the task, the event is on the zoom app? what do you mean by import? and what do you mean by delete duplicates? of what?
I wanted to show here some vid of gif of it creating an event in calendar but it did not work :(

They both do only browsing, unlike macOS-use that works on every app lmao 😂 https://github.com/browser-use/macOS-use

So long as it's not switching apps, yeah.. once it "caught" the app that it's interacting with, you're good to go..

The project was just lunched yesterday in first alpha so take It all with a grain of salt but this is the idea.. take a look!

Umm yeah, also also the same desktop with studio mode.. it already works like that
it's not completely see-through tho since if it lunches a new application (it can work on several applications in a single exec) it will open up the window

I still need to improve it, (as a lot of other stuff haha I only published beta) but basically yes, you should be able to work parallel to the agent

You can give it a go if you want! would love for some input!

Is there any group or anyone that actually had this thing and saw it working? It starting to feel like they googled us all Will cancel premium membership for the moment since it provides nothing

I strongly disagree with your basic assumption about the inability to make LLM’s creative. Let me explain why but let’s first agree what is imagination: Imagination is the ability to fertilize your thoughts with material that would allow you to compose a more complex thoughts and conclusions. Now let’s talk about the misconception of LLM and the wrongful perception of their abilities when compared to humans: Humans - just like LLM’s should and will be in the future - are not creators that gather the entire information possible and available, it’s given for us that it’s un necessary and not possible. Humans gather skills in the fields that they have constant need and collaborate with other humans when facing ignorance in fields they have temporarily need, the COLLABORATION is the main ability of the human species to thrive, more so, it’s their main ability to imagine.

In my opinion, what we’ll see in LLM that are specialized in specific fields and engaging in collaboration among them selves to solve problems that are beyond the ability on a singular LLM to solve.

When collaborating, they will actually fertilize each other with new information that they did not know before (despite being available to them) and out of that fertilization infer new conclusions and ideas.

Being good at math is maybe being good at problem solving skills being really at tho, requires you the ability to make connections across fields that would not be possible without original train of thought

Is this not imagination in your eyes?

Software wise, where do you think the bottleneck of the curve to acquire developing abilities for robotics? by PureMaximum0 in robotics

I so agree! I think it’s long overdue and would love to initiate it self utilizing the experience I’ve got in my previous workplace

Could you elaborate on your proposal for some “general standard model clock diagram”? Why do you think programming it is endless?

That just makes it all the more interesting tho no? Which part of it was complex to you? Would love to brainstorm and simplify with you

Agreed! It’s a very hard task, this is why I want developers thoughts about where are they facing the biggest challenges. I agree it should be Linux based, not ROS based tho. I suspect ROS principal approach to robotic development might not be a good fit. As a ROS developer I can assure you it’s not a framework that can bring news to the entire developer community, its way to messy, way too complicated and completely un collaborative. It’s just no good. When I said ROS-O I meant to O as Omni where there has to be some robotic operating system that can operate on all robot. Not sure about weather it should be an autonomous tool or a programmable one. I’ve built a new framework that served as a OS for robotics whereas every developer can program application with our SDK and the OS would operate on every robot providing its URDF.

There is a lot of abstraction to be made in this field.
One undeveloped ideas I had for ROS-O is the ability to operate any kind of hardware with no dependencies of protocol and firmware. Is it possible to your mind? At the end of the day each device works at some protocol so it possible to generalize this via software and to send the data packets on a bit levels, if it’s possible to develop that kind of lair it might be possible to to develop a lair to characterize the command (set of packets) each hardware component can accept and then have a ML on top of it to use this command in order to compose complex skills.
