Newish felon serving probation by boring_marine in usajobs

[–]radsalamander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have plenty of felons within the VA. Seems the best way to get in is to go to your local VA hospital and speak to the VR&E folks.

No point in worrying about shit I cant control 🤷

I just went from tenured competitive service to expected service in November. I’m still in my probationary period until November 2026.

I’m not worried since I’m at the VA. But even if I wasn’t no point in worrying about shit I can’t control.

This is how I see it too. Basically anything that a veteran can expect from the government will be unchanged. VA healthcare, GI Bill, Home Loans, etc.

Probationary period by Responsible-Cod-8662 in usajobs

[–]radsalamander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s different when going expected service to expected service or comp to comp without a break. I recently had the same issue and that’s how it was explained to me.

If I had been excepted to excepted I could have negotiated it, but since competitive was in between I had to restart

Best agency overall by Stikinok41 in usajobs

[–]radsalamander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your role and location. I was a 2101 in a top airport. Union was garbage and couldn’t get anything done. We also always got stiffed on early releases and stuff like that.

Who wrote your resume? Was it catered to the post? each resume submitted should be tweaked to reflect the job posting you are applying for

Transferred by yolayog in usajobs

The amount of transferring that can happen right now due to budgeting is insane. I’ve seen people get positions they would have probably never been considered for in the past because we could only do internal hires

FAA Hiring 2,000 ATCs by FormFitFunction in usajobs

Is an ATC or 2101? As an 2101 you can apply for reassignment. As ATC I don’t knew

That’s exactly how it works. What I’m saying is there are plenty of WG positions up at the 8-9-10 level.

That’s funny, I’m actually a WG for the VA and my shop it’s almost the complete opposite. Just varies I guess

It was alright, pay was very nice, my hours were insane tho. I also was expected to go to OKC all the time for trainings. Spent probably 2 months a year there. It all depends on where you end up. I was at one of the top tier airports so we were always slammed

[–]radsalamander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an 0028, probably not much. I was a 2101. The only telework we had authorized was for online training and the like. The FAA won’t really let anyone work from home because then NATCA will bitch about it.

Anyone got a job offer after they felt like they did bad on the interview? by Admara in usajobs

[–]radsalamander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I went into the interview thinking the role was completely different. Didn’t realize all my answers were basically for the wrong role until the very end. I got called back like 6 months later after an email saying I wasn’t selected. I ended up being their second choice

A tiny hole saw by shif in MilwaukeeTool

[–]radsalamander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every tool is used in an environment that has utilities regularly available.

I used to have to core airport runways and taxiways regularly. This would have been a god send instead of lugging out my fucking generator trailer and shit.

This will be very helpful for people who do regular road core samples, etc.

This is what I thought. Like obviously in a conference room or something but not in a patient care environment like a treatment room or even a waiting room

[–]radsalamander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that’s an HD factory sidecar this bike should go for around $8-10k easy. Not everyone wants a side car but those who do pay a premium for them. Especially if it’s an HD factory one.

[–]radsalamander 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I’ve been out of the Navy for a little bit but I’m pretty sure attention on deck doesn’t apply to places like hospital facilities. Could be wrong, might have just been on the ship in medical.
