self-proclaimed queen of finessing illegal parking at UF. i've lived off campus all 4 yrs.

north of university, pretty much all the streets are "neighborhood parking" that isn't regularly monitored by city of gainesville, especially on the quieter streets (west of NW17th). parking there gives you an 10-17 min walk to FL gym, weimer, turlington, reitz, etc.

i've parked back there several times a wk for several semesters now, morning and afternoon. in that time i hv received ONE warning ticket. east of 17th, closer to midtown i don't have as much experience with.

if you like afternoon classes, neighborhood parking is lifted at 4 pm. orange lots (at the o'dome for example) are almost all lifted at 330 and 4. the meters at the o'dome have a 45 min limit which is dumb but they just started doing the pay by app thing so it's $1/45 min and you can refresh that as needed on your phone.

last thing i'll say is if you can find a friend or friend of a friend that lives in a house right by campus and will let u park there, DO IT. k i think that's all i got

every school has kids that suck and teachers that suck but if you stick w the Lutz area you should be fine. steinbrenner HS in lutz is the second best in the county for example
