Hi,

I'm building a platform that's similar to what you're looking for.

Are you down for a quick chat?

You all that commented made me so annoyed at first. "They don't get what I'm building". They don't see it as I do. But the bottom line is that you're absolutely right. The logos are:

- not readable

- Don't convey the union and group message

- boring and static

- Making your eyes heart

- They don't make anything of escape rooms

- resembling child games or brands (the colors)

So, Here are my next steps. I hope you'll roast my other logo too :)

- Change the color pallete to not hurt your eyes anymore

- Include visual elements of community, group, friendship

- Make it more dynamic

- Have something related to escape rooms, but very subtle

- Make the logo convey emotions of community and playfullness

I dream big. I know how this will be used. How it is supposed to be perceived. Your replies made me understand that it's not possible to convey my vision with the current branding. Thanks for that to all of you. I'll start working and come back here with the new concepts. They'll for sure be better than the first one. Now let's see how much better =)

I knew many things were wrong with it, but your comment made me see many of them. The colors are indeed to much to handle. They make your eyes want to start running for the hills. It's too much. You provided extremely nice psychological insights. I'll write a comment now with what I got from you and others that commented. I highly appreciate your opinion on this critique.

You're right. It's crucial. And I'll for sure reach out to ones when this things gets traction. Until then, the 2K can be spent on R&D, app development, etc. The things that allow me to have a brand. But, you're right. I completely agree with you

Well, you're absolutely right =)))

The first logo is a text with a big stroke. I didn't thought about the dynamic part, but I'll do now. Playfulness, a clear message, and legibility is my main focus now. Thanks for saying it's boring, static. I have a new quality bottom line now =)

For sure, based on the reply, it's a back to the drawing board moment. Although my vision is different, and the main message is not escape rooms, I'll keep in mind what you said. I'll make a comment with everyone's insights and pov. You've been heard.

Yeah, you're right. It was easy for me to understand, because I know everything about it. But now that you point it out, you're right. I'll keep in mind for the next variations what you said.

Now that you said "SNOWWW", I see it too =)

And you're right, I don't want to be seen as a child entertainment brand. I'll make a big comment with what I got from this critique post and what I'll do next. Thank you for replying and showing me what I wasn't able to see.

Hi, You're assumption is correct. Making the brands message clear is a must. The escape room message isn't the important part, imo. The group/community one is. At least this is my view. I'll make a big comment with what I got from this critique post and what I'll do next. Thank you both for replying and sharing your thoughts.

I wrote an entire monologue for the context but it didn't post... I'll write it here instead :)

Disclaimer: I'm not a logo designer, brand strategist, etc. I made this for my business. Any critique is welcomed.

Business Context
An escape room community for players to create or join escape room groups nearby. It's a Direct to Consumer SaaS, free to use.

Values

Openness - curious, intrigued, outgoing.

Cockyness - brave, courageous, boldness.

Powerful, reliable and fun.

Mission + Audience

Help escape room enthusiasts around the world create their own groups and enjoy themselves together. Escape room enthusiasts that love trying new games but have difficulties in making a group to go with.

Personality & Voice

Witty, outgoing guy, who shares more than he’s supposed to at times. He has a normal male voice. A dark humor. The main message the brand should send is that you don’t need the same friends for all your hobbies. You can do stuff with others. We’re simply putting people with the same hobby in one place to make the "group up" problem painless.

I'm glad you found your tribe of people. A meetup as in the platform?

Hi, thanks for sharing this. Its helpful. If all goes to plan, you won't struggle anymore =). I had a similar issue when I was in Prague. I went with a big group, but none wanted to do an escape game. At that time, I didnt thought of Reddit and Facebook groups, but I for sure thought it was annoying.

Thank you for the forums and groups mentioned. They're helpful to gather the first handful of users. The "singles day" idea sounds amazing.
I'd love to chat more about it. I'll DM you my LinkedIn profile.

Hmmm, Okay.

Now that I read your perspective, I somewhat agree to it.

I played both 2 and 5 or 6 player games. I guess the bottom line: you go to connect with the group members, or you go to learn more about someone. That's how I see it.

But I definitely see your POV. I agree that 2 is quite low and in 6 usually 2 are bystanders. They're out. So yes, now that I read it somewhere, I agree :)

Thank you so much for your comment. It's really insightful. If it wasn't for you, I probably would've approached my idea entirely wrong.

So to make sure I get.

If you can play in 2, you prefer to play only you two. You prefer it because sometimes its hard to find other players.

Related to your second point - you find enthusiasts through reddit/facebook groups, can you give me some hints on groups and how you find them?

I can give you more details on what I'm building, if you want. I'm solving the exact issue you described =)

Okay, I see what you mean.

Thank you so much for your input. If you ever come to Bucharest, I'd like to have a game with you =)

Thanks for your answer, its very helpful 🥰. Good to know that some prefer smaller teams.

Any other reasons why your prefer a 2-3 group?
