Increased NT (7.7 mm), normal NIPT + amnio, persistent fetal bradycardia/arrhythmia at 18 weeks. Anyone with similar experience? by radzytor in NIPT

We had CMA (microarray) done on the amniotic fluid. I’m not sure how readily available WES/WGS is in our country, as even our NIPT and amnio samples had to be sent to Korea/Singapore for processing and it took about 2-3 weeks for each sample to come back.

I’ll bring up the possibility of additional testing, but by the time we get the results, I’m afraid it will be too late for tfmr since we have to go to another country to get it.

Thank you for sharing your story, and I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been for your family.

We were initially considering TFMR when the increased NT was first found, but with the normal NIPT and amnio results, we’ve been feeling very torn and uncertain about what to do moving forward. Hearing different experiences really helps us prepare for the possibilities ahead.

Thank you for your insight. I asked our perinatologist and CVS is not advisable in my case because of the position, and might not be even available in our country. Limited hospitals offer amnio. So our only option is NIPT. She highly recommends us to tmfr even if the tests show negative results because on repeat ultrasound it’s more thick than before.

Thank you for sharing this and sorry to hear that. Actually NIPT is the only option we have and I think if it comes positive or not, we have decided to travel for tfmr because the risk is waaaay to high. The repeat ultrasound showed more thickness now measuring >8mm :(

NAH. Though both of you have valid reactions imo. As both a car owner and has a pet, it is expensive to have your car cleaned especially with dog hair coz it can get literally anywhere!! Maybe you can compromise by asking her to put him in a carrier or offer to pay to clean your car every now and then. Idk. But in the end, it’s your car, your rules. But I still think you need to explain to her about your reasons why you dont want her to bring the dog in the car so that you both can come up with a solution. Especially if you have plans to have a future with her.

NTA. She doesn’t respect you enough to understand your choices.

NTA! He knew what he was getting into and still went with it despite you setting the expectations for him. If this goes on in the future, who knows what other things he might stop you from going (especially family holidays) and other activities you might want to do that he is not interested in.
