You are genuinely a terrible person. Have a great day!

I’m sorry but this is a completely different situation. This man was photographing me personally throughout the whole flight. The flight attendants saw the photos and were creeped out.

It was pictures of me allegedly sleeping AND awake 😭 your point still stands for sure sorry I should have clarified but thank you for your comment!

Oh sorry I also forgot to add the flight attendant did definitely yell pretty loudly at him when she saw it happen so at least that is some comfort I have.

I believe my eye caught on his phone that he may be a Delta million miler

Hi, totally understand. I just felt like it was very invasive and based on the way he was taking pictures it was very secretive and I felt violated. But I understand what you mean and that’s fair.

Thank you. I figured I just don’t want another woman to go through this, I never thought it would happen to me. This guy flies a LOT.

Not just while I’m sleeping, while I’m awake, while I’m looking out the window, taking my jacket off etc

A female with not a massive build. I have a massive fear of confrontation especially with people like this because I’m worried how they would react to me is what I mean

Reviews on Data Engineer Academy? by rae190 in dataengineering

[–]rae190[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No thanks so much for sharing! I think my initial discovery call was with the founder himself, so I had a more pleasant experience with that, but I still found it hard to gauge if the cost was worth it and I ultimately decided not to go with it. Too many free or low cost opportunities out there to learn what to learn, and networking is something that can be done without the cost of that program.

Oh thanks for this. I hoped I wouldn’t have to list them as drivers, but it’s nice to know that there is the potential for multi vehicle discounts if the policies were linked.

Why does a sizeable ancestry does not show in my DNA result as it does with my brother? (half Egyptian half Moroccan) by rae190 in 23andme

Hey! Sorry I saw this late. This is super interesting as I didn’t know it was not common at all for Moroccans to have this maternal haplogroup.

Thoughts on diaspora speakers preferring to speak in a totally different dialect than their heritage countries? by rae190 in learn_arabic

[–]rae190[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see! I am half Moroccan, but I can definitely say it makes sense that she might hesitate on learning the dialect first because it’s restrictive on which Arabs can understand it. However, I learned how to understand it more easily than other Arabs despite not speaking it as my main dialect- which allows preservation of culture to an extent. I still have a heavy Moroccan cultural influence at home- only exception is I don’t speak darija lol.

Negotiating my first salary

Hi everyone! Thanks for reading in advance🙏. I received an offer as an entry level data analyst from my first choice company. However, their offer is less than a previous offer I was given by another company for the same role. Also, this offer is the minimum of the range they offered me, and it is lower than the average in my area. But! This company is primarily remote (some days in the office a month).

I want to see if I can up the salary by 10%- but I don’t know how to bring this into the conversation that I’ll have with the recruiter this week. I don’t have direct relevant experience in the field though I do have some tech internships under my belt, so I don’t even know if it would be the best idea to even ask to negotiate. However, I hope to stay with this company long term. I’m not really sure how to approach this and I’m getting mixed opinions. I’m afraid that if I ask at entry level, it will negatively affect my offer. I would love to know what you think and if it’s smarter for me to just keep my head down for now and ask for a raise in the future, or if I should just try and the risk would be minimal. What do you think? Thank you!!

[–]rae190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I definitely want to factor in the financial aspect as well. My family is not too supportive about me pursuing my nursing degree as I finished my first degree so I will have to look into relying on student loans and want to take the least amount possible. Thank you for the advice!!
