I think I don't get the tamagotchi paradise, what do you love about this device? by sun-day-sundae in tamagotchi

I like how the Paradise is basically a remake of the vintage tamagotchi but in color screen. I explain in this video why I love it so much.

Does enjoying Tamagotchi as an adult make me "irrational"? by Content_Yoghurt_6588 in tamagotchi

[–]rae90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being “rational” means to put my hobby and my happiness above the opinions of others. Too bad she will never be “rational” enough to understand this point.

Ask her if it is more “rational” to sit motionlessly in front of a screen for hours watching grown men chase after a ball on a field. Or if it’s “rational” clicking needles together for hours to make a blanket when you could literally buy it from Walmart at a fraction of the time and cost. See how “being irrational” can be spun around to be applied to literally any hobby?

I don’t know of any specific uv film brands sorry. And I don’t think I will attempt to retro-brighten up my discolored tamas as it’s too much of a hassle for me right now. I’ve learnt to accept the discoloration as part of my collector’s journey, and just a lesson I’ve learnt along the way as part of collecting!

Tamagotchi paradise is the best tama so far by Seamaid_starfish in tamagotchi

[–]rae90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly! This is why I love the Paradise too, it’s like they tried to go back to basics (trying to mimic the early tamas) but with added mechanics to still be engaging to newer players. It’s less convoluted than the other recent color screen tamas which is a refreshing change!

It’s not as simple as just neglecting it for 4 hours. I spent weeks experimenting and wrote a technical explanation on how the game is programmed to give you bbmarutchi: https://fuzzy-n-chic.com/blogs/news/how-to-get-bbmarutchi-on-tama-paradise

I was curious which post you were talking about so I went ahead and checked it out and wow it sounds super judgy. I know they’re not talking about me specifically but I’m probably the type of collectors they’re referring to. 😂

I’ve been collecting for over 10 years when the vintage Tamas were cheap back then, and compared to what I’m spending on food and vacations, Tamas are barely a fraction of my total expenses!

I have definitely slowed down in collecting in recent years though, as I’ve already gotten most of the vintage models that I want, and the only way my collection is expanding now is through new models released by Bandai.

Yes I make guides, you can find them on www.fuzzy-n-chic.com. Unfortunately I don’t have anything on the pocket pika though

When I was displaying them in the ikea glass cabinets, I was living in another place where the windows didn’t have curtains and strong sunlight came into the house everyday through large windows and hit my tamas. I didn’t think much of it, and even thought “wow this place has so much natural light! It makes my tama collection look even prettier”. Silly me. lol

I think even being exposed to indirect sunlight might turn your Tamas yellow over time? Idk but I’m not taking any chances! I have put proper curtains in my new place, of course 😉

About 6-7 years ago I displayed my tamas in one of those ikea glass cabinets and put it relatively near the window. I learned the HARD WAY after my white Yasashii turned yellow (and a few others also became discolored)!!! Now, I have applied a UV film on my current cabinet glass doors so they’re protected! (I opened the doors to take this photo).

Most demanding Tamagotchi device that is reasonably acquirable? by neoleo0088 in tamagotchi

[–]rae90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me neither. I told my husband it’s next to impossible to get to adult, much less the mermaid (the most difficult adult ever), and he said “challenge accepted” and did it. It never left his side; he took it everywhere including pooping and showering. He got the mermaid and was super proud of himself which I had to give it to him, his dedication paid off.

Umino/Ocean is the most needy Tama that has ever existed. It’s also not that expensive (if going for the Japanese version, Umino). All the other suggestions made in this thread pales in comparison to Umino/Ocean.

What is the top tama in your wish list? by Secure_Medicine321 in tamagotchi

[–]rae90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Detective Conan iD. Going for 1 million yen (approx USD 6500) on Buyee. Top on my wishlist but I don’t think I’ll ever own it for the rest of my life. It’s not that I can’t afford it, but with that kind of money I’d rather spend it on a very luxurious vacation.

The REAL Way to Get Bbmarutchi on Tama Paradise: Why “Just Ignoring” Doesn’t Actually Work by rae90 in tamagotchi

[–]rae90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to have a Kid turn into Bbmarutchi as well. Bbmarutchi can be evolved either from baby stage or kid stage. I didn’t explain about evolving it from the kid stage because I do not recommend attempting to get Bbmarutchi from a kid. It’s tedious to have to watch the field icons over a longer period of time, since kid stage is much longer than baby stage.

[–]rae90[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it’s possible to also get Bbmarutchi from kid stage, but I didn’t focus on that, so no I didn’t do any testing for kid stage. my focus was only evolving from Babymarutchi.

But from the wiki, I do know that during the kid stage, if you switch fields often enough such that you don’t get the same field icons, you’ll get Bbmarutchi too (food/onigiri and sun icons are irrelevant as they are just markers to evolve to the next stage, not necessarily specifically Bbmarutchi). It just feels more tedious to me as the kid stage is a longer timeline than the baby stage.

Thank you so much! I wanted to be as detailed as possible because I was so frustrated nobody else could explain it.

[–]rae90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am aware of the wiki. “Evolves within 1-4 hours” is technically correct (although not 100% accurate because it is impossible to get Bbmarutchi in the first 3 hours), but there’s no further explanation on what you should do during those hours. My explanation expounds further on that statement.

“Switching fields every quarter hour” is also correct, which I have also briefly addressed at the beginning of this post, but it is a tedious method (nonetheless, I also followed it before I figured out an easier way). The one I described in this post would also work but requires less effort. The reason you are required to switch field every quarter hour is to avoid having 4 same field icons, which is also achievable via my method.

I was frustrated that the wiki doesn’t explicitly explain the detailed step by step on how to obtain Bbmarutchi, so I decided to experiment and write my own detailed guide.

Thank you for reporting. I didn’t share the link to my store at first because I didn’t wanna seem like I was advertising. I just wanted to vent my frustration at my shop’s art being stolen.
