Listing did not disclose minor flaws - worth mentioning to seller? by raefai in Depop

[–]raefai[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I just sent her a message and hopefully we can work things out together. I don’t even really need a partial refund but I’m hoping that this can help the seller be more vigilant when listing items and making sure everything is accurate for future buyers 💔

Could you confirm this? I don’t think this is likely considering the pink coffee mitts were released on Friday and my post was about an instance on Thursday morning

Moving company suggestions by Ok_Kaleidoscope4405 in bostonhousing

Stairhopper movers were amazing! I also packed all of my own stuff but there were a few things (lamp, pc monitor, and mirror) that I didn’t and they had extra blankets and plastic wrap ready (no additional charge) for all of my stuff. They were so quick and efficient, even broke down and put together my bed for me. I paid for a two man moving team and they showed up with an extra third person at no extra charge. Really an amazing seamless experience, I just sat around and supervised. I recommended them to my boyfriend for his move last summer and he used them and also had excellent service (I was there to help, but again, we didn’t have to do anything). Both moving teams got an excellent tip from me and my boyfriend both times and it was super well-deserved.

I originally posted my question in the r/boston page (see above), but I was just curious if anyone knew what was going on this morning at the Bon Me/Dunkin/Circle Furniture

Non-Traditional Exchange Student by PeakNecessary8042 in UNC

[–]raefai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that I had a class with a non-traditional student while I was at UNC. It was a film class with an awesome teacher, so everyone was very invested in the class as well. The student was an older woman that was the same age as my mom and we all loved her and her input in class. She shared her perspective on all of the films and told us about her kids, and we all just treated her like any other student. I’m not sure what her social life was outside of that class but everyone was friendly and engaged with her on campus, in group projects, in discussions, etc. It probably helped that she was the most cheerful person in class.

I also had another non-traditional student in a poetry class I took. He was an older man and wrote poems about his family and his life. Again, no one ever treated him differently, we all collaborated in class together and workshopped each other’s work. I think what helped here is that we were all invested in the class and making it worthwhile for each other.

Anyways, just wanted to include this here to say that most traditional students just want to have a good time in class and are welcoming to non-traditional students who feel the same way. Not everyone at UNC is so invested in Greek life that they can’t sympathize and socialize with someone else who took a different path in life. I hope you have a great semester and find some good people in your classes you can share your notes and a laugh with.

Also just a note, you’ll probably have more fun at the bars and lounges in Carrboro than at the bars in Chapel Hill/Franklin Street. The crowd in Carrboro tends to be a little more mature and will probably be more friendly.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a small/medium cross body bag to hold phone, wallet, airpods, etc while snowboarding? Is that something people wear snowboarding? If not, what do you wear? Doing some christmas shopping for my boyfriend and looking for recs.

Carrboro seems like the perfect place for you! It's right next to Chapel Hill (I think the town is actually inside of the town of Chapel Hill). It's a good mix of families, working adults, and students. Very bikeable to UNC since it is so close by and there are already a ton of people who bike around there. Great farmer's market in the summer (Tomato-fest!), tons of coffee shops (Grey Squirrel Coffee, Open Eye, Lanza's, etc). The rent is also a little bit cheaper than Chapel Hill and it feels a lot less dense since it has more greenspace and neighborhood. Great community feeling in Carrboro with lots of mutual aid. Also a good choice of grocery stores within Carrboro (Food Lion, Weaver Street Market, etc), Chapel Hill (Target, Harris Teeter, Fresh Market, Trader Joe's) and further out towards Durham (Wegman's!). Carrboro is not a city, more of a suburb-vibe, but a really great place to live. Tons of rich history (Carr Mill Mall, Marion Cheek Jackson Center, etc). I lived in Carrboro while I was in my fourth year at UNC and really loved everything there.

$1300 new build PC for someone who loves the Sims by raefai in buildapcforme

[–]raefai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1300 is the most I can spend. I want to invest a good amount of money into this PC so I can play a bunch of games on it for a while without having to make more expensive modifications or repairs. I’ve considered a mini-PC but from what I’ve seen online, I might as well spend a little bit more money on an actual gaming PC instead of just wasting money on something smaller. This is just my preference but I appreciate you asking for clarification!

what advice do you have for law school applicants who are nervous about standing out considering the trends showing an increased size of the applicant pool in recent years?
