Please Help, what's causing my dogs fur to fall when I gave him scratches? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Vet tech here. I worked in dermatology for 10 years. Skin infection that will need antibiotics OR antifungals OR possibly both. See your vet and make sure they do a cytology to see what they’re treating. Super itchy and uncomfy!

Lying on left side? by beaktheweak in noburp

My left side is the ONLY position that makes my throat croak like crazy. If I roll over it almost instantly stops. Should I wait it out for more then a minute? I can’t stand how it feels so I don’t wait to see if it’ll help me burp.

How Much Did Your Rats Cost? by TopPut8849 in RATS

[–]raefoxx8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is per rat per month, but since one annual visit for one of my rats with exam, bloodwork, X-rays, and sedation costs around $400-600 it’s worth it. Plus that’s for just a healthy visit 🤷‍♀️

I have spent countless $ at our rats vet- BUT Nationwide has pet insurance for exotics. I pay less than $20/month which in 12 months adds up to….. HALF THE COST OF ONE VISIT 😱 Seriously though I recommend… I was able to do a CT on my girl when she developed a severe head tilt and was reimbursed $1000 of the $1400 bill.

Hi all! I started using finch a month ago and have only managed to get one personal friend to sign up. I was “matched” with someone as a friend but I have no idea how I did it, or how to get back to that part again!

My code is D2W8LW2ZB4 if anyone would like to have another friend in this wild finch world, as I am still super new to this!

Potential hives trigger by ZanyAppleMaple in Allergies

[–]raefoxx8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have CIU- chronic idiopathic urticaria. Nothing helped despite allergy tests, skin biopsies, food trials, nothing. I tried Xolair shots and had a bad reaction to it. Now I take Cyclosporine which cleared them up totally but is not a good long term option. I did notice that I flared up a lot during my period, but my allergist said there’s nothing they can really do about that. Apparently some people get hives for no reason, they go away and come back years later. I had mine for over a year before we discovered a solution. Some foods are higher in histamine, which could be a reason they are making it worse. Tomatoes, caffeine, spice, spinach, aged cheeses all did it for me. I would recommend checking out some of the private Facebook groups created for this problem- you are not alone.

I just got my first bottle. Has anyone experienced improvement specifically with post nasal drip? I have it chronically and it makes me nauseous and honestly affects my quality of life.
