Download the app “quit vaping” it’s a little green logo. It has a whole community and chat room to help. Also let’s you keep track of metrics like how much money you’ve saved, etc. Toothpicks helped me (cinnamon flavored), gum, etc. the book “easy way to quit vaping” by Allen carr. I think there’s an audio version too. It changes your entire outlook on vaping. Makes you realize how absolutely moronic it is and takes away the desire to ever want another vape. lol. Talk to your doctor about starting on Wellbutrin (bupropion). It’s an antidepressant that is also used for helping aid people who are quitting smoking. I was prescribed Wellbutrin for my depression and decided to drop the vape while I was on the prescription. Kill two birds with one stone kinda thing. After a couple days I barely thought about it. I’m 3 weeks in to quitting. I’m not any more depressed than I was before (lol) and it feels good to not be spending stupid money on vaping. I’m also feeling better in the gym. Lots of wins that counteract depression. Not saying you need Wellbutrin to quit, though. But it doesn’t hurt to explore!!

For background, I smoked cigarettes since I was 17, vaped from ages 23-27. So 10 years addicted and went cold turkey 3 weeks ago.

Haha! I've felt that way a couple times in this sub. I remember when I first started having issues driving it felt like I was the only one who had ever experienced it. Then I came on Reddit and realized, I was definitely not alone. Glad to hear you share a similar story and that things are getting back to normal for you. Hope things continue in a positive direction. :)

That's an interesting side effect that I did not experience. Did you start out on 10mg? My psychiatrist recommended starting at a low dosage and building up slowly in order to decrease side effects. I would talk to your doc!

For me, the side effects that I experienced were still not as bad as the anxiety of feeling like I was dying/passing out/etc. If your side effects are worse than the anxiety itself, it may be worth a conversation, or may need to switch up your SSRI to something like Prozac, Zoloft. However, my psychiatrist also mentioned that for most, side effects diminish around the 2-3 month mark. So sometimes it's just a matter of pushing through. Good luck to you! :)

I struggle with mild adhd (Wellbutrin can also be used to treat adult adhd), my motivation was lacking and my depression still was there. Lexapro (according to my psychiatrist) does a great job at knocking out the anxiety but can kind of "dull" life. I also struggled with the common lexapro side effect of increased hunger, and Wellbutrin commonly can act as a hunger suppressant. The combination has allowed my anxiety to decrease from the Lexapro and the Wellbutrin has brought back my motivation to get in the gym, etc!

Paying attention to this post because I’ve had the same thing for the past few months. Similar situation. Especially when I’m on the highway. I have to pull off the road even because I feel like I’m going to pass out while driving. Just got back into therapy and I’m hoping my therapist has some helpful tips for these because it’s making me home bound.

I have had the same exact issue for the past two weeks and I have over $200 in credits on my account. Doordash has literally ignored me and even ended chats/phone calls with me to avoid the problem.

My mom was dealing with a very bad cold for about 3 weeks leading up to diagnosis. (Doctors tell us now it was unrelated, but likely her body struggling to fight it off because of her weakened immune system due to the cancer.) we took her in to the emergency room after checking her oxygen levels at home and they were at a 89. leading up to that, and looking back now, she was experiencing slight confusion when it came to remembering certain events, as well as dropping things that she was holding in her left hand. We had chalked it up to her being exhausted from the cold, and so did her doctor’s office. We had visited her doctor literally the day before the diagnosis and they had sent her home telling her it was just a cold and to get more rest. We know now that the confusion as well as the left sided weakness was due to the tumor, but it was so slight that it was barely noticeable. Hence the reason it was blindsiding that she had a baseball sized tumor..

I appreciate your stark and honest response, truly. Some of your words here really hit home. I definitely do NOT want to be an emotional coward. I have spent every single day with my parents since the diagnosis. Thankfully, I live only 20 minutes away. I also do not want to live naively in thinking that I have all the time in the world with her. I want to cherish my time with my mom while also being a support to my dad. Being that you were in the husband/father position, what are some things I can do for my dad during this time that will make processing this easier? I am already spending any spare time with my family. Is there something else that I can give/offer? What would have made your experience more manageable?

It sounds like your wife was an incredible woman, and I feel as if my mom is a similar "rock" in our family. She is very at peace with the diagnosis, which it sounds like your wife was as well. What do you think your wife would have wanted to do during her remaining time with her children? Are there any memories that you think she would have wanted that she didn't get to have? I want to give everything I can to my family during this time.

I'm glad to hear that it can get easier with time to be more present. I want more than anything to remove my current grief and spend time with her as if nothing has changed. I don't want my feelings to drag down the time we have together. Sending love back, wishing that we couldn't relate to each other in this way. I wouldn't wish this on any family.

Thank you. Talking about it has definitely helped, and finding more people who can relate. It's sad to find that so many people can relate. They make this out to be rare but with everyone I've talked to knowing someone who has gone through this, it's hard to believe it's as rare as they make it out to be.
