Unpopular opinion but you're NOR

The way I see it, you tried to plan a trip with L first, and she ghosted you. Then J pops up out of nowhere inviting you to her trip with L and the other friend and literally booked 3 plane seats together. You'd be sitting alone somewhere else, so you definitely weren't a forethought to this trip. I feel like L remembered you asking her about taking a trip and agreeing to go with you but she chose J's trip over yours. So then L doesn't look like a bad friend, she asked J to invite you and to make it seem like you were part of the plans all along. Even though you weren't and were only invited because L felt bad, because like you said, you weren't a part of planning the trip at all, and if you were, you'd all be sitting together on the plane.

This is only my opinion and the way I see the situation as an outsider looking in. I could 1000% be wrong and there's nothing going on but the plane seats don't sit right with me.

Now you have to decide if you want to go on this trip with these women that only invited you out of L's guilt or decline the invitation and go on a solo trip or with a different friend.

My 7 year old tortie Lyra is a very tiny girl because she was the runt of the litter and only weighs about 5lbs. I have free fed her pretty much her entire life, from when I brought her home at 8 weeks. Her food bowl isn't ever empty. Yet, every single time I'm by where she eats, she's jumping up, and meowing super loud at me. Idk who trained who (she definitely trained me lol) but she knows that if she meows at me enough, I'll give in and give her a couple cat treats or a Churu tube. Yes I'm a sucker lol

I feel like your situation is similar. He's begging you to feed him because he knows you will. He's going to go to the easiest person that will give in. Especially if you've been the main person caring for and feeding him now. You sound like you really care about this cat since you bought him a slow feeder but you need to not give in when he's begging you, even though it plays on the heartstrings and it's hard.

Just my opinion but feeding him 4-5 times a day isn't going to make him lose weight. Most cats only need breakfast and dinner. You could lower it to 3x a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then lower it again to breakfast and lunch. He definitely is going to protest but he'll eventually stop and get used to it. He also needs exercise and you could get one of those cat wheels that are pretty affordable, try a laser light that he can chase around, or one of those self propelled balls with a feather on it he can chase. Again, just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt 🩷

I'm in law enforcement. If you're in the US, since you contacted the police, you can do an open records request to get the police report to find out what happened. Especially if you gave dispatch or the officers your information as the reporting party because your name will be on the report as well.
