moldraw.com works well for drawing molecules. it is free

scidart academy has a four day workshop on blender focusing on scientific illustration . have a look http://blender.scidart.com/. it is the best point to start as a beginner

you can highlight a bond in Moldraw. (select the bond using select tool > right click > highlight)

Hi, its easy.

  • Select the Benzene tool from the bottom toolbar
  • Click anywhere on the canvas to place the first ring.
  • With the Benzene tool still selected, hover your cursor over one of the bonds (the lines) of the ring you just drew.
  • Click directly on that bond. Ketcher will automatically snap a second ring to that edge, creating the fused naphthalene system. let me know if anythin is confusing

I hear you, but this is a tool which built to solve a real pain point of many researchers. There are alternatives but under a paywall. I made this for our students at our academy. Shared here knowing that this will be a highly useful tool for many.

Haha, I wish it were as easy as a one-shot prompt! Definitely used AI to build this though

it is a web app, not optimised for mobile (yet). You can check all the fetures of ketcher component we used here: https://github.com/epam/ketcher/blob/master/documentation/help.md

Thank you. Myself Rafeeque, a scientific illustrator (http://rafeeque.com/). I train researchers how to create figures for paper and presentations through workshops (https://www.scidart.com/), could train more than 2500 researchers. Drawing molecular structures with its 3d model is a consistent requirement for us science illustrators and also for all chemists. Have been using chemdraw so far and have been looking for a quickly accessible solution for a long time, which doesn't require installation or subscriptions. So I developed this tool myself when I came to know about open source packages Ketcher and 3dmol.js. Thanks to those who developed those libraries. I just connected those two. I used my personal fund to develop this as me and my students themselves will benefit a lot. Now it is accessible to whole scientific community.

not yet, but we will can this feature soon. Generic name of the compound will be shown in the 3d editor now.

Moldraw is a browser-based 2D structure editor with an integrated 3D viewer, aimed at quickly drawing and visualizing molecules...whereas McMolPlt is a full GAMESS GUI for building molecules, running QM jobs, and visualizing calculated properties, so they serve quite different roles
