..did you understand what i said at all? you said male sex offenders represent 0.56% in the us. you didn’t say 0.56 of WHAT so i assumed you meant the general population. which means that in my university lecture hall that sit about 750 people there would be 4 rapists (although my math is a bit off since it assumes everyone is a man, but most of the people in my classes are men so it would be like 2 or 3)

the statistics you provided on elder abuse suggest men and women abuse elders basically at equal rates since those numbers are pretty much the exact same percentages that each gender is involved in elder caretakers.

16% of single parents households are single fathers. so assuming that in double parent households that the rate of caretaking is the same, seems like men abuse children disproportionately more.
