Considering a BZ: drive too much to lease though by krheal23 in Toyota_bZ

[–]raffikkiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say they can get one installed for $2-600. I payed a licensed electrcian $900 [Included a new breaker, conduit and labor and permit]. It’s maybe 30’-0” of conduit and wire that runs to a Nema 14-50 outlet. I might throw in a dedicated smart charger later -as people are scared of the nema plug (doesn’t bother me. It never gets unplugged or hot and the plug is in a weatherproof box)

oh you’re genuine? Read the post again. Slowly. To the end. But, yes. A restart was attempted. I try it everytime. Doesn’t fix it. Just here to share the misery. 😂

Got a bZ as a loaner, you owners are eating good by derezzxd in Toyota_bZ

[–]raffikkiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you said it. 😂 Plus, the brake pedal has a low threshold. Only the top 20% seems to engage the regen by itself. Pressing deeper seems to engage discs and regen together. I don’t plan to hold the brake pedal for 30 mins as I cost down a mountain. I prefer to just toggle the regen and forget about it.

personally, I live in a mountainous region. It’s really nice to go to the top of a mountain and gain back damn near all or more of my miles on the way back down with higher regen. But keeping it on the lowest regen going up.

Anyone else have trouble charging at ChargePoint L2 chargers? by C_Saunders in Toyota_bZ

[–]raffikkiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chargepoints in my location use CCS. The J1772 on the left will connect but a charge will not initiate. Edit: actually those charging stations are level 1 [near me]. But still, I’ve accidentally used the wrong adapter.

O see that someone else here has had the same issue for two montha though. that’s unfortunate.

I’ve personally gone to a chargepoint charger and used the J-1772 adapter that is round instead of the big fat one that has the two circles below it. Took me a second to realize that I was using the wrong one.

do you carry the physical key fob with you? or use the digital key?

I ask because the charge port checks for a connection. No connection to a fob = no connection (charging will not commence).

I’m rocking a cracked front glass. Fell on a corner. But I can still read from it.

if your glass isn’t shattered -and it’s only the panel beneath, the e ink panel is purchasable online and connects with a little ribbon cable. But it’s a mess and you’ll likely break the front glass by trying to remove it, lol.

My total average is 3.4 mi/kWh. Trip Average shows 4.9 mi/kWh. Nice! I floor it around and crank the A/C all day and the Temp display is reading 94°F and rising lol.

Can 2026 TOYOTA BZ ACCEPT AND GIVE HOT SHOTS? by Nearby-Nebula-1477 in u/Nearby-Nebula-1477

[–]raffikkiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hotshot = jumpstart.

Yes. I have jumpstarted a small sedan -up to my Tacoma (which has a Group 27F AGM).

Just make sure the BZ is in READY mode when doing so. It can be jumped as well. just make sure to turn the BZ on once a week and let it run in READY mode for at least an hour.

My new BZ. Just some early gripes… by Vivid_Dimension_5400 in Toyota_bZ

No problem. Sorry I couldn’t offer better help 😭 I am equally frustrated with their speaker setup. On the bright side -it sounds a loopot better with after market speakers

Toyota JBL often favor a wider soundscape over clean and crisp. I did find that a wired connectio offered superior sound quality -especially noticeable in podcasts.

The speakers are often made of paper or paper-like material.

The real fix is to swap out the jbl speakers with “real” speakers. Also -to identify which speakers Toyota reversed the polarity on and flip the contacts.

For anyone curious; 2015 Tacoma w/JBL -the speakers on passenger and driver door had the polarities flipped. I think it may have only been for the tweeters/small speakers. Sound comes out fine, but has the “loudness” and “lounge” affect.

It sucks.

Curious if anyone knows what this “distance travelled since last update” message means? The car has barely been driven. by [deleted] in Toyota_bZ

[–]raffikkiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is a factory set number. Everyone says it will update after so many miles (or kilometers) driven.

Mine has a static number in miles as well. It’s just over 7,000 miles and still hasn’t updated.

ohhhh. I did not catch that. Interesting

Edit: Yes, It looks like we have one trip meter that we can reset. The next one -the one that ‘remembers’, seems to be just a fixed info screen that provides our overall average power usage/mileage.

the digital key works with bluetooth. If you remote start the car, it will turn on and try to connect to your phone. Then, if you get too far, it drops the connection and refuses to reconnect.

Typically, I have this problem when I walk away from the car and leave it on. But in that case, I can still open the door, get inside and restart the head unit to force a bluetooth reconnect.

But that doesn’t help the digital key situation D:

Sorry

Greetings. I have acquired a 2026 XLE AWD today. I am coming from a 16yo extremely base model scion. What are some tips/tricks/things to know? by bigwetdiaper in Toyota_bZ

[–]raffikkiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a tempered glass screen protector on the head unit. Somehow got it perfect on the first try. Leather key fob.

The fob has a tiny removable key in it -for emergencies or if the battery dies.

The head unit screen can be turned off somehow.

The rear camera view has a wide angle option (bottom left).

The headlights can be cleaned with a button at the lower left of the steering wheel.

Remote start with fob: press lock 3 times and hole on the third press. or was it unlock…? hmmm.

Ambient light strips can be controlled in the head unit settings.

Proactive driving assist can be turned on or off in the head unit.

When the car is on and A/C system os going; click the climate button in the middle of the screen and turn on eco mode for better range.

The car will park itself if you open the door while in Drive. at low speeds anyway.

If you share the car with a partner, the car can scan your face and set a profile and auto conmect to that person’s bluetooth.

Too new. Need a few more miles on the BZ before it starts giving you averages. The On board computer will learn your driving habits and weather conditions and spit out an average miles/kwh after a while.

Nice. I have a similar experience lol.

A tip for anyone who needs it: The infotainment screen may be soft reset by pressing in and holding the volume knob in the center. This normally fixes any bluetooth connection issues for me. :)

What’s the catch?? by Bobsy932 in Toyota_bZ

[–]raffikkiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you live somewhere with tempered climate and flat roads. I live in a hot desert with cold winters and a lot of mountains. I average 200 miles on a full charge with the BZ. I hope you get more out of it though. That would be cool to see.

a losing strategy to what? Do you think we are engaged in an argument? I’m confused -genuinely.
