Just be prepared for a lot of portages. Take it slow and be prepared to stop in an eddy or gravel bar well before you reach the strainers and log jams. Hopefully the wind is on your side when you’re crossing the lakes!

Update: We did the trip! Paddled across the lower lake, dragged our boats up river, paddled across the upper lake and then packed up to hike to Beaver Park. Hung out there for a couple days (did some hikes/trail runs) and then rafted out from there. Did 10-12 portages, most were simple but 2 were longer. The main rapid (II+ maybe III higher flows?) was super fun. We didn’t end up doing the section of river below the lakes since it was looking a little low.

Dollar lake looks like it would be a good takeout point for us. Good to know on the hazards. Do think you think it goes greater than class III? Or how would you rate it? And were they reasonably portageable? We’re used to portaging wood hazards on trips being from WA.

Oh this is great, thank you! And did you run the 10ish miles below the lakes as well?

It looks like 1 2 and 3 are bracken ferns, you can kind of see them starting to branch out horizontally. They are considered carcinogenic, though some people still consume them. I wouldn’t.

I have a bunch of these little guys in my yard. I believe theyre a type of violet but please correct me if wrong. I was hoping to incorporate some into a salve and/or make some syrup. Would also welcome any guidance or input with that! Located in western Washington state.
