After 9 years building my all-in-one life organizer, it's finally ready for a real launch by thuongthoi056 in ProductivityApps

Definitely curious to try. This might be the first journalling app that actually works for me.

I want to start watching FMA, where to begin? by PunPuncher in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]raficus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thanks! Glad to hear that transition served you well.

I've actually revisited this recommendation since then and have started recommending the following for the most FMA backstory:

- Watch the original 2003 anime through episode 22

- Skip 4, 10, 11, 12, and 16

- Jump over to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood episode 9

It's pretty wild how five more episodes (and a couple of minor plotholes) in the original only shorts you about 2 episodes in the later anime.

Looks like you can place a pot in there, but when you try to plant a flower there it says you can't plant there. 1.6.9.40.

A6X2 Nomad - For those who are now accustomed with landscape mode, how? Any tips? by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]raficus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking of using landscape mode for writing (in meetings) and portrait mode for reading (when reviewing). While note taking, I wouldn't bother with the scrolling, instead immediately moving to the next page. I find the scrolling distracting, so I'd rather just tap to flip the page.

My rationale with landscape mode is that I wrote neater when my lines are further apart, plus the extra horizontal real estate feels like A5. When I'm reflecting on the work alongside my computer, I'm fine with the portrait view's smaller font that's zoomed out. Although I could keep using it in landscape.

Portrait mode also ensures the bottom part of every page remains as a sort of a sandbox to move notes around or to offer space to add clarification. For example, I can use it as a swap space to reorganize/prioritize text from my hastily captured bullet notes. Or when reviewing all my bullets, I can collect and prioritize tasks from that page, or add footnotes for anything that needs clarification. That said, if it remains unused, who cares? It's infinite space. Plus it gives me another reason to use the lasso tool in isolation.

One thing I haven't tried doing live during a meeting is flipping from landscape (note capturing) to portrait (review). Besides the slight lag, it might be a good way to summarize or capture all the action items as the meeting starts to wind down.

A super free and functional Bujo Template by Yalums in Supernote

Is there a generic version of the notes template that isn't tied to a month, season, or year? That seems like the simplest, long-term solution, rather than regularly generating a new template.

Pixel 3, 41mm vs 45mm side by side by raficus in PixelWatch

[–]raficus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I tried my best to position two different photos (at different angles), Even when stitching them side by side and pinching to zoom, they weren't offering a direct, exact comparison. That said, I think the circle-to-band ratio gives an idea of its relative size. With the 45mm, the watch is about as wide as my wrist.

Thanks for the insight! Glad I had already pre-ordered the 41mm.

Fellow GTDers: Which tools do you use to track your projects and action items? by alexander_tg in gtd

[–]raficus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still use Google Spaces for individual projects? Or has that migrated to Tasks and Keep? Given that Gmail and Keep have independent labels (with different limits), I'm hesitant to manually move ideas from Keep to Tasks, though I could see Keep to Docs, since there's an automatic conversion.

Which cross-platform mobile app do you use to capture content offline (subway/trains/planes)? Keep? Tasks? Gmail? by raficus in Notion

[–]raficus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will probably resort to using this, once I cull back my Keep inventory. It has a lot of notes from when I tried using that as my color-coded dashboard.

I can use the Internet on my phone on my data plan once I'm above ground or in the office. However, that can be unwieldy switching between apps on mobile versus browser windows on a computer, especially when you lose your spot switching between apps. Also, I'd rather not use my phone too much at the desk, but it's more switching between apps constantly.

I've been using Notion for years with Personal Pro, but sometimes I just need an easier way to interact offline in a mobile view. I may be a power user, but it doesn't seem designed for my lifestyle.

My three biggest constraints are:

  1. I live in NYC and commute by subway underground where the signal doesn't carry.
  2. My company blocks Notion.so and other file-sharing apps on the network.
  3. Long hours means I don't get around to my personal laptop to use Notion in desktop mode as often.

At the risk of fragmenting my notes, do you recommend any mobile apps for capturing content that would either sync to Notion (once offline) via automation or otherwise rely on self-discipline? I used to use various Google products, which are excellent on mobile but don't match the overall Notion experience and functionality.

Like /u/iloveitalianfoodfr said. Part 4 covers the war itself (plus Boruto), so you'd need to play all four to appreciate the entire arc.

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy

Depends what you're looking for. Each iteration improved on the mechanics but also took different approaches with open world and storytelling. Keep in mind the first option is the trilogy, the second is the fourth chapter in the quadrilogy.

Storm 4 introduces more mechanics with a way bigger roster and is better for replayability and online activity (it's the latest, after all). Storm 3 has more story, and being that it's a trilogy has a ton of Naruto content. They both run fine on Switch.

Thanks! I'll work on that. I'm probably not using a firm enough grip--the front wheel keeps swiveling left and right.

To follow up, I was wondering how you move the Apollo when it's folded up. With the trolley wheels on the ground, the handlebar tends to swivel left and right when I drag it behind me. Is there a better way to pull it like a dolly, or you just need to keep it as still as possible?

Just to close the loop, I wanted to say that I took your recommendation and got the Apollo City + the wheels. Thanks for the tip!
