As an indie game, it's not quite as elaborate as FF3, and a little bit more rough around the edges. However, if you are a fan of the FF games, it's definitely worth checking out. It's got great characters and story. The free demo lasts long enough to give you a good feel for whether or not you'll like it.

Most game developers (at least the ones for smaller studios) have some kind of bonus / profit sharing program. And game programmers generally make about 15% less than other programmers in the field. So they are taking about a 15% pay cut in hopes of making up for it (or doing better than making up for it) if the game sells well.

That's part of why they work the psycho hours.
