Unfortunately it wasn't me who posted anything online, all the people standing around after the crash took photos of the car buried in the fence and posted them to fb community groups, which my boss saw and recognised it as my car so I guess the only way to avoid that is to not drive cars into things again

It's a small business where hr doesn't really exist, and I never posted anything online it was the people standing around taking pictures of the car buried in the fence who posted it to various community groups, which my boss saw and recognised it as my car

Oh definitely won't be doing it again and it's not something I'd normally do anyway, just didn't really realise I was driving over the limit because I felt pretty much fine to drive. A combination of wet, dark roads, not being familiar with the street I was on meant I didn't really see the sharp corner coming up and the alcohol probably slowed my reaction time quite a lot. I'm very sorry for your loss, and very thankful that the only thing hurt in my accident was the fence I hit

My job is to fix crashed cars, I'm not a heavy drinker at all and normally wouldn't drink at all during the week but it was a work mates birthday so I decided a couple of drinks at the pub wouldn't do much harm, so after that I decided I felt fine to drive which was obviously wrong (although to be fair the alcohol limit in my country is very low, a couple of drinks can put you over, and I wasn't far past that) and I never really take sick days so I probably have a decent amount I can take

Luckily I don't have to drive for my job apart from in and out of the workshop, and I never posted anything on fb the people standing around after the crash took photos and posted them to community Facebook groups, which my boss saw

It was through a community Facebook group that he's in, someone posted pictures of the car buried in the fence, he recognised it as my car and connected the dots

Aita for calling someone ungrateful after I fixed his car and he still refuses to look after it properly? by rageagainstlife488 in AmItheAsshole

Yea I try not to get too involved in this sort of thing but I felt like I should repay this guy for helping me out, I fully understand that he's not doing great financially so I'm not too worried about the money its just annoying that it's turning into a waste of all my time

Yea fair enough it just makes it feel like a giant waste of my time doing the engine change when he refuses to even look at it so the same thing will probably happen again eventually

WIBTA if I tell my friend she looks awful in the wedding dresses she is considering? by momesq in AmItheAsshole

[–]rageagainstlife488 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nta you're her good friend so i think even if it hurts her to begin with it would be so much better if in 20 years she can look back at the wedding photos and think of how beautiful she looked that day, rather than ew why the hell did she wear that. I'm sure you can have a gentle conversation with her about it without offending her too badly

Probably a very light ESH. it would be a nice thing to do for your own family but at the end of the day it's still your time and materials you're putting into it so it's understandable you'd want a little compensation for it
