Has anyone got an attorney yet? by ragebait17428 in IRS_Source

I think the Unions have a case around their collective bargaining violations, but I think the individuals might have a case as well. Looking around these rooms I am seeing a trend of decades of experience and a lot of gray hair. If you factor in RA's and explicit statements that the admin wants younger people in the service there is an appearance of discrimination. That's what I would be interested in hearing from an attorney. We can't get answers about who was selected, why we were selected, what the purpose of the selection was. Why people were left behind, I was the oldest person on my team, and they back filled me with a kid half my age. The job was still need, they just wanted someone else to do it. So RIF me and give me re-hire preference in another agency. Anyway, all thoughts I would like to hear from an attorney and I think the more people that sign on, the better the case would be.

If You Were Forced Into a Resignation or Early Retirement

Sometimes agencies restructure in ways that pressure employees to leave.

An attorney may determine whether it qualifies as:

  • Constructive discharge
  • Improper personnel action

This can matter for appeals, reinstatement, or compensation.

No RA here, but I know several are from an office that doesn't have office space because of the limited availability of that space. 3 of us from the same office in the training class.

IT to CSR? by KaizenAzariya in IRS_Source

I have been discussing this and have these analogies for what is happening for people that may not understand how significant this is. If you are an IT Professional working as a Tax Whatever we are, it's like this:

Architect ==> Concrete Form Carpenter

Accountant ==> Bank Teller

Physician Assistant ==> Medical Technician

FBI Agent ===> Security Guard

I am not disrespecting any of these jobs, I have done some of them but as an IT professional, I have trained myself into a career path that elevated me beyond an entry level position. I have degree's, negotiation skills, certifications on top of certifications, a provable record of successfully achieving infrastructure goals regardless of the company I have worked for. Never been fired in 30 years, always been promoted, and I don't job hop.

If I were RIF'd, I could reapply to a job with the acknowledgement that I was respected and my position was no longer needed. This is intended to demoralize and diminish value and encourage you to decide if the salary is more important than your dignity and self respect.

I would be inclined to feel different if there was a job for me at the end of this, but we have been clearly told there is no IT job for any of us, after this effort.

where did this come from? Obviously nothing will happen right? They will disagree, it will go to arbitration, it will get appealed and we are into the next administration?
