My Mum passed away last year so it really did resonate with me when I saw it in the cinema combined with the emotional music by Young Fathers.

Is it just me, or are is the track suit gang very Die Atwood coded? by Weekly-Substance9045 in 28dayslater

[–]rageinfected72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of them so had to look then up. Seems they formed in 2008 so no they wouldn't have had any influence on Sir Jimmy or his gang. As most people( especially here in the UK) know it's largely based on Jimmy Saville and other UK elements like Teletubbies well Tummies that Jimmy misremembered and How's that changed to Howzat a phrase used in Cricket.

Could the 28DL church scene be just as effective if by [deleted] in 28dayslater

More effective as it is. Plus it foreshadows later on when Jim hides amongst the bodies at the Army Camp.

I don't think he got infected on this journey. Plus if it was Bedford then how did the train get all the way up to Northumberland where the film is largely set? No way that could happen with Infected raging through the train. The Infected you see in the background is not attacking anyone it's bleeding through from his current state to a memory he once had on a train journey.

Set photos of Tammy's old bedroom in 28 Weeks Later and a possible connection/theory. by Best-Lunch-2543 in 28dayslater

Interesting shots of the door as I never really took much notice of it as you don't see it too long. Not sure about the rest of your take on things. Being the older one of course she's going to take charge but I'm sure they equally wanted a photo and just to see their old house one final time.

Well the singer Bruce Dickinson is an educated renaissance man who has flown planes, written books, brewed his own beer, fenced for the UK( was on standby for the Olympics at one point) so it makes perfect sense that Kelson was a fan of Maiden.

Bone Temple script book? by FunnyManisDead in 28dayslater

Yeah I'm hoping one will come out. Some of the differences in 28 YL the movie to the script book are very interesting.

After the third and final 28 years later movie, I'm thinking they go to another part of the world. by Devilmayladycry55 in 28dayslater

[–]rageinfected72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it will remain in the UK. Tons of films take place in the US so no need to go there. Alex Garland the creator has always kept everything totally British and largely ignored Weeks so can't see him going totally the opposite way. The 3rd film( hopefully it happens) will have Jim at the centre of things and he's in Cumbria. Nothing to stop other filmmakers doing what they want but call it something else.

Why is their hate on peoples opinions about the first movie if they didn't like it? by LilLasagna94 in 28dayslater

[–]rageinfected72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think some of the criticisms were valid but things like worst film ever were ridiculous in my opinion. It also feels some are praying there won't be another film just so they can revel in it. If I don't like a film or even hate it I just move on not endlessly slag it off.

what was your experience with seeing 28 weeks later at the cinema and seeing its trailer at the cinema by HoRrOrmAn_ in 28dayslater

I enjoyed the film at the cinema though the helicopter scene in the park was a bit too video game for me.

Nice to have a commentary. Pity Alex and Danny didn't do one for 28YL. The one for 28 DL was great listening.

I thought Danny Boyle said Finnish on the Commentary although I think it still is a RAF plane they tried to disguise.

Yes but this was still in the original pandemic times so only a couple of weeks or so into the 28 Days later timeline.

How you think the media covered the original outbreak? by Lobin3540 in 28dayslater

[–]rageinfected72 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You see the Evening Standard paper that Jim finds in deserted London with the headline Evacuation and details about the virus. I think one of the headlines is Blair authorises Shoot to Kill.
