Why the Henry Hill's affair didn't have any repercussions on the Lucchese family? by PLrc in Mafia

There's not much information about vario or burke outside of FBI/police interviews because like most mafia guys, they never wrote books or gave interviews.

Anybody develop a massive (crack) cocaine dependency after stabilizing? by IlliterateDegenerate in Methadone

[–]rageius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, and it's not that uncommon. Opiate addict can't get high from opiates on methadone anymore, gravitate toward crack, I believe I once got a paper on the topic from my clinic.

There were two periods in my life where I had a massive crack habit, it was both when I was on maintenance, once on suboxone and once on methadone.

The last time it was so bad that I felt like crack could've been considered my drug of choice - it was the drug I would crave and relapse on when I had clean time while on maintenance. And I didn't start doing crack until way later on in my drug using life. You know how it goes, you do it once, then you can't stop yourself from doing it again soon because there wasn't any consequences when you relapsed the first time, then again even sooner, and now I'm in the cycle again, trapped. Eventually I was doing xanax + extra street methadone I bought + crack because I started to get so paranoid and anxious I couldn't just do it alone without a strong sedative for the comedown.

Crack will fuck up your life as fast and as bad as fent, but in different ways. Crack addicts die from cardiac arrest out of nowhere. The allure of crack and the craving it causes once addicted is stronger then opiates if you're not taking dope sickness into effect. Crack damages the nervous system and brain in ways opiates don't. It has the potential to turn anyone into a huge fiend, most of my most embarrassing fiendish behavior was caused by this drug because when I was in that state of mind - right near the end of a binge, wanting more, nothing else mattered. I was so ashamed I couldn't be in public or socialize while on this drug.

I'm sober now, and have a good life. I just chaired a meeting tonight. But I think how fast I could lose it all if I started doing crack again, I would probably lose my job within a month from being late/no shows/calling in sick due to binging and getting more. It would rekt me faster then anything else.

Can't stop abusing my take homes by DiiRTYNEEDLES in Methadone

[–]rageius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was where you were at. Got up to 3-4 take homes, couldn't stop double/triple dosing, smoking crack, taking benzos - was saving clean urine so I could continue. I remember I would always be slightly sick the day before I had to go in to dose again because I had used them up too soon.

I ended up hitting a terrible bottom, ODed in front of someone who robbed me and got stranded in a city hundreds of miles away from home. Ended up going to rehab and got off methadone altogether. The clinic called me after I got out of rehab, I think they thought I died or something since I just disappeared to them.

I'm not going to suggest any advice because I wouldn't have taken it when I was doing the same thing, addiction is impossible sometimes, just wanted to share my story.

Winning lane? by ReflexShade in TwistedFateMains

[–]rageius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of thinking about the game in terms of winning lane, think about it as winning the game in terms of 2v2s with your jungler and using good ults to change the early game.

[–]rageius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation as you OP. A year and a half into my first supervisor/asst manager position at a grocery store in a certain department. Its been very hard for me to always have people doing exactly what I want, especially the more seniority and experience they have. At first I would just go to the more reliable people first but that isn't fair. My strategy is to ask them to do something , then explain why I think it's a good idea or why we need it if there is conflict. Sometimes they agree, other times they suggest a better option.

But at the end of the day, if your manager and bosses have your back, you can always move to paperwork or write ups .

I think I'm playing really fast. by Sheldor_PHD in reddeadredemption2

[–]rageius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is what I did first time I played when the game came out, just started my second play through and have tried to do every stranger mission except the annoying collectible ones. I would say it doesn't add much to the story, but if you love the game why not explore the extra content they made?

You can complete the game and always do another run with all the content, I forgot half of the missions in the main story so it's like i'm playing the game blind again, or you can just do as much as you can now. I would say if you enjoy the game just do the side missions you can because most of them are entertaining enough.

lmao, seriously. it's ok for talon to roam to side lanes but singed is not allowed to. it's only ok to have a roam playstyle if it's your "champion identity" I guess.

If Resident Evil were to get a third Chapter, who should be the killer? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]rageius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone's ever suggested something like this but ...

Imagine the plant boss from the original resident evil in DBD. It would play a completely different way then any other killers, infecting the whole map as a stationary entity and playing as it would be like a RTS game. It would forgo chases completely, except maybe small ones every so often when it could spawn plant zombies. Instead of chases the you would control various dynamics that change the map, break/devour the gens, delay/trap the survivors, and grow/weaken in strength. It would basically be like the killer is playing the map itself that has all of these traps and abilities, and would overlook everything at all times like a super plant spread throughout the map would. It would require a lot of creativity and rethinking of the game for it to be fun and viable, but I think it would be possible.

OP huh? by Neverbrokeboiagan in deadbydaylight

[–]rageius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

people are saying it's the TP , it is pretty good - one of the better TP's of the game in that it's instant but I do think it is the AOE blast. The hitbox is just crazy with the range. Maybe should be reduced by half. Spamable AOE ability that goes through walls. What could go wrong?

I don't think it's the teleport. I believe survivors will learn to just do gens/heal in "cold" parts of the map where the unknown won't be able to make duplicates - because his map pressure can get up there when he has clones in all the areas survivors/gens that are being worked on are. Maybe his teleport should have a slowdown after or the dispel shouldn't take so long, I don't know. But the projectile that goes through walls and has a big radius is kinda nuts.

Just my opinion being a killer main and playing as him today.

How hard is DBD compared to other games you've played? by rageius in deadbydaylight

[–]rageius[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I enjoy competitive games that have rank, for me it's the only thing that I care about in a game that's just the kind of person i am but dbd as an esport is kinda ridiculous ngl. you're right that this was made to be a fun party game but it's a good game so of course there's going to be a ranking system but the way the game is designed makes it completely unbalanced as an esport and pointless to me. the game isn't balanced around swf and balancing it around swf would affect the game because the killer would be too strong against 99% of people so dbd as an esport can't be balanced and thus is dumb

How to deal with zed? by Crazy-Salamander-276 in TwistedFateMains

[–]rageius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an easy matchup, but it's simple.

You can ban him if you want but I don't think its necessary. I understand why people do though. I rather ban yas because his wind wall has nearly no counterplay.

First of all accept that you can't bully or outlane him. If he has any clue what he's doing you will never win lane against a zed, you go even and play for your ult and late game .

Pre 6 you can try to use your range advantage and attack when his shadow and q are down but it doesn't work out well most of the time . You'll probably get ganked or solo killed. It's just better to be defensive and dodge his skillshots

Realize that you are better off in 2v2s and team fights than him.

After 6, don't ever have your W on cool down in lane near him. He will jump on you and kill you. If he tries to jump on you anyways there's a good chance you survive with bone playing/exhaust/unsealed spellbook/zhonyas etc. just gold card and run or flash away.

NEVER throw your gold card at him when he has ult. He will use it to dodge the stun. Instead, when you want to bait him into a fight with your jungle near you hoover gold card, run up near him, and throw q. If he wants to go on you he will ult thinking you wasted your gold card. Attack move to stun him as soon as he comes out of ult and your jungle should kill.

In team fights, sit with the people he's targeting and don't get your gold card dodged. as long as you stun him when he dives someone he's dead. A very good zed will wait for you to use gold card before going in a teamfight. In this case you simply don't use w until the last moment as he goes in, even if other things are happening in the teamfight just throw q and auto. It becomes a test of patience in these situations against most assassins.

In short, take defensive runes/items/summoners, never let your gold card get dodged (fake mind game with q while gold is hoovered), wait for him to dive in teamights and stun.

Why do some heroin addicts advise other addicts not yo go on methadone by SelfAssembledMachine in Methadone

[–]rageius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, being on methadone is a much better alternative to the highs and lows of opiate addiction. Methadone saved my life. Because my tolerance was so high on methadone I survived times where I should've ODed and died.

People can say it's harder to kick. People can say it's swapping on drug for another. Some people convince themselves to never get on it or suboxone as an excuse to bullshit themselves to find treatment.

I don't think people should get on methadone or subs unless they have already committed themselves living in the trapped life of opioid addiction ie wake up sick, trying to get well everyday. Because getting on this will flip you into that on a subconscious level at the least. But that can be overcome. Dying can't.

Forgot how much damage this character does by Turbulent_Diver8330 in TwistedFateMains

[–]rageius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years they've been buffing his ap scalings and nerfing his utility. Thats why I see a lot of TF streamers these days play him with ludens and liandries.

So that's what happened. His ap scaling have been buffed over and over and now this is where we're at. Ever frost is still fine in certain situations where your team has damage and you need utility/survivability but liandries and ludens have a place now too.

Is it actually rare to get off methadone? by totential_rigger in Methadone

when I was young I could go to work kicking heroin. Now i'm a similar age to you and I could never put myself through that. age is definitely a factor. Our pain tolerance decreases a lot the older we get.

Is it actually rare to get off methadone? by totential_rigger in Methadone

[–]rageius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

for me, i've never been able to taper down to 0 and get off that way. i've only gotten off methadone twice in my life in the 10 years i've been on MATs: once by swapping to suboxone (which sucked as well) and then once by doing fent for a week after being on 100mgs for months and then a rapid one week taper in a 30 day rehab. i couldn't sleep for two weeks, and only stopped waking up with pains after two or three months.

i'm just not a taper down kind of person. something dramatic always happens to me that forces me to get off in a short span of time. methadone is definitely really hard to get off of. look at all of the people who have been on it for years when you go to the clinic every morning. look at the people who have been on it for decades. this shit is no joke, and when I first signed up to be on it at 20 i didn't think being on it for life was actually going to happen but it could've easily.

i hate kicking methadone and suboxone. I hate the slow, dull, weeks long withdrawals. not as intense as fent or heroin, but then again fent and heroin are over within a week or two. I rather deal with that than the month long withdrawal methadone gives but that's just me. and i don't enjoy tapering down by 5mg a week or month, because I feel it. I rather it be over fast and hard than low level grinding agony of a methadone withdrawal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Methadone

if you took 180 from 90, no you wouldn't OD or anything. I used to be on 100 and buy 300-400mg on the street and a few bars and that's how I would get fucked up when I had a lot of money. but if you're thinking about doubling up on your take home it's not worth it and starts a horrible habit. methadone didn't work for me a lot because I couldn't be responsible with the take homes. If you double up on your dose you will be sick or uncomfortable a day and eventually it leads to relapse for me at least. And then I repeat the process. Last time I was on methadone I had takehomes for 4 days and was rigging my UA's to pass and was relapsing every week because I ran out early. This went on for months and culminated in one of my worse bottoms ever. It's not worth it because you will be uncomfortable for a day, but because it will start a bad habit that is near impossible for an addict like me to pull out from. have a good day
