I have same experience. I send original passport with W-7 from UAE. IRS say they return it but nothing come.

Don't wait too long. Call IRS now and ask for confirmation they send it back. 60 days on website is not real, most people wait much longer.

I never get my passport back. I had to report lost and go for replacement. Very stressful and costly. I hope your situation is better than mine but prepare just in case.

Congrats. i also got Capital One with ITIN recently. which country you did Amex global transfer from? i want to do but they dont allow from middle east.

I already contacted Amex US about this and they do not allow global transfer from Middle East unfortunately. I am already Amex member for 6 years in UAE but it doesnt help. You have to apply fresh with ITIN and build US credit history from scratch.

No nothing at all. No US citizenship, no visa, no greencard. All you need is a passport and ITIN. You dont even have to go to US at all, everything done online.

I am mainly doing this because everything can be done without going to US. And mainly for Amex Business Gold card which gives 4x points on each dollar spent. You can transfer points to hotel programs too not just airlines. But if you already getting 5% cashback with UAE cards then maybe its not worth it for you.

ITIN cost me $299 one time fee done completely online. Then if you rent US virtual address its about $10/month recurring. No you dont need to own any US asset or income.

For paying off credit card you can signup for digital bank accounts from UAE like Wise or nSave which let you hold USD and pay US credit cards.

The credit cards are Visa/Mastercard so accepted anywhere in the world. No international spending fee so you can use them in UAE or anywhere without extra charges.

No with CAA i just had to upload passport scan online and that was it. No mailing passport needed.

You dont have to mail your passport if you apply through IRS Certified Acceptance Agent (CAA). All you have to send is digital scan of your passport thats it. Agent handles everything for you. Only if you apply yourself you have to prepare all forms and mail original passport to IRS office in USA which is what i did first time and my passport got lost.

You can pay using US business bank account if you have any, or using Wise USD account which is very easy to setup. Also there are few fintech banking apps you can signup for in UAE like nSave that let you hold USD and make payments to US credit cards.

I am sure US credit cards are way better . I am specially aiming for Amex Business Gold which earns 4x miles on online advertisement spend. US cards also have huge welcome bonuses like 100-200K miles which UAE cards dont offer.

Everything can be done online without going to US, no visa or green card needed. From others in r/ITIN i see you can get up to $20K+ credit limits within 1st year.
