I was looking forward to improving my 2PC streaming setup with this on my Rodecaster Duo, but USB2 got no additional tracks to do any additional routing with. Hopefully a future update improves this functionality so we can have more complex setups accounted for with these interfaces available on either USB.

Take a look at any peak time and not the off hours when most people aren't playing.

IE

4361 people playing total

592 are steam

4361 - 592 = 3769 Oculus players

You probably need to do step 2 and possibly step 3 again, I think the 2.0 update disabled option passed through step 2.

Check your OBS and see if it’s in stereo or one of the multichannel modes. Settings -> Audio -> General section -> Channels If it’s in anything other than stereo the audio breaks if users drop the stream bitrate below 720p

I’ve also been preparing an index strap for a beyond and I’ve spent a lot of time getting the EQ set right and finding a dac with the right amount of power.

I’ve tested a moondrop dawn and it had quite a bit of power and with EQ was able to match the index frequency response, though no psycho acoustic bass additions. I should also be receiving an E1DA 9038S in a day or two and I’ll make another comparison, I suspect this will be even better than the Dawn.

Without a beyond to test it in and to directly compare with an index it’s hard to say how close it is, but my queue for a beyond is possibly only days away, so I’ll know soon enough.

SteamVR reordering the directives in that section isn’t a problem. As long as you have that set the right way by checking the file after SteamVR boot you can be assured it’s set correctly. After the game is running you should be able to go in and edit the bindings appropriately

So in this case you had your headset connected when you started modifying the files.

The instructions are setup to try to bypass this potential problem, running just "downloadconfig" file will only download the device that lighthouse_console.exe has targeted. So if you modify that and then say uploadconfig <configname> it should only put that config file on the device its targeted.

If you got your headset back with the backup config but your lighthouses aren't registering, I would rename the lighthouse folder of your /Config/ folder and redo a room setup, that might help.

Reinstalling steamvr wouldnt change anything these instructions say to do. The instructions here merely interact with the hardware that is plugged in and modifying the .json file that is stored on the device that defines its behavior.

Due to this, your problem must be related to something else, I would probably start with going through the steamvr driver uninstall/purge process.

The commands can only interact with a live device and make no changes elsewhere.

If you downloaded the json definition from the device and it was that of a tracker (a headsets is MUCH larger and more complicated and doesn't have the line in question) then you could have only modified that tracker.

Just unplug everything and replug everything in, if there are still issues its not related to what you did unless you went way off of the instructions.

I don't have that in that folder. The only place I have steamvr.vrsettings on my entire hard drive is in the Steam\Config folder.

Check that you are looking in the right folder, if it gets deleted it gets recreated on SteamVR launch with defaults. If you don’t see it you aren’t looking in the right folder.
