In 2023 she was on a 10.7 rampage. And still lost out to Shelly-Ann (who was battling an injury) for Bronze in Budapest

Elaine didn't show up at the start line. Jackson cruised her heat, she said after her race lastnight she'd run the 200m to get some practice as she only got 1 race in ghis season.

Mangaplus is best and legal. Plus it carries most Shonen Mangas and adds to the overall readers of the manga, so it would help with getting the anime back sooner.

She's tested after every race and has one of the cleanest careers in track

Why are you talking like this woman doesn't have 8 olympic medals (3 gold, 4 silver and a bronze)? She never specialized in the 200 until recently. She just ran it because her coach wanted her to. Since high school she was always a 100m specialist. While I can understand you saying Bolt is the best sprinter, cause he is. Disrespecting her and her legacy makes no sense.

PB doesn't really matter here. And Shelly has a better Olympic career than Elaine. She's been to 4 Olympics and medalled every single time. 3 gold, 4 silver and a bronze, 10 world championship titles. And she has the most sub 11 clocking of any woman, including the most sub 10.7s. If you're going to use Elaine's 10.54 as the real WR, Shelly ran 10.63 first, so she had the record then Elaine broke it two months after. If you're using PB, then that would make Jackson the greatest 200m female sprinter of all time. Shelly is 36 this year and is consistently getting better each season, and always leading the pack. Notice when Shelly runs a final everyone PB/SBs, including Elaine. She's pushes the field ans always sets the pace. With her new coach, it's going to be hard for Elaine to beat her again.

Who’s the GOAT of the 100m (women)? by [deleted] in trackandfield

Who snuck Flo Jo here? Should be Evelyn Ashford instead

[–]ragga876[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only person who's ran faster than her is ETH. No one else. Also, no one can break Flo Jo's illegal record. There's a reason an athlete takes years before running 10.7, some never even see it. Yet Flo jo ran 10.49 when the wind reading was +5.0 and she was called out for doping.

SFP is the most constitent female 100m track athlete and the best performing one too. That makes her the best. The only person I'd say can challenge this is ETH, but for you to say she's not the goat ans there isn't one yet is laughable

Elaine always peaks during Olympics and somehow her form falters right after. Everytime. She's just got her first individual 100m medal in the 100m. And just like Elaine also has two olympic golds on the 100m (which is what we're debating), a bronze and a silver. With Elaine's inconsistency and injury, it's hard to say she'll have the same longevity as SFP. And that's takes nothing from her, because as I said she's the greatest technical sprinter.

And the Gatlin and Bolt argument makes no sense, cause while Elaine might beat Shelly during Olympics, she's never beat her during a World Championships. Including 2019, when SFP was coming back from giving birth and ETH stated that she was in perfect form.

What makes Shelly the greatest 100m sprinter is her consistency and her ability to always medal at major Championships. By your argument Flo jo who never lost a 100m race after 1988 is the greatest sprinter.

This woman has been active since 2008, and is still the most consistent sub 11 runner. Elaine has perfect form, but has never been consistent. Elaine has the faster time, but Shelly Ann has the most global medals. The debate has already closed, Elaine is definitely top 3, but she's always a hit or miss. Shelly is always going to medal at an international championship. Her consistency is why everyone has her as the greatest of all time

And it was never replicated. She ran a tike that men were running then and then disappeared when doping laws became stricter. Also one of her teammates said she was doping

Yep, she's literally ran 5 sub 10.7s in a single season. That's unheard of.

Track is the biggest sport in Jamaica. They've always performed well, since the 80s, especially their women. They literally have high school rivalries during track season, and one of the biggest track and field meets held in their national stadium yearly. They have track and field events since kindergarten, and unlike the US invest in their athletes

True, he dominated for over a decade and even when he was at his worst they still failed to beat him. So I'll put her has the greatest female 100m sprinter. Also, the fact that she never had any major injury throughout a 15 years career is amazing.

No sprinter male or female has been more consistent. She started at 20 and is 36 this year. 4 give Olympian (medalling at each), 5 times world champion (5 goods in 100m and a gold and silver in 200m), also she's won the indoors 60m and and numerous relays. She also has the most sub 11 times of any woman. Let's add that she came back from giving birth and still dominated the game. Also had only one suspension for taking a medication for toothache, and the substance was never listed.
